Wren is recovering nicely, and if she weren't wearing her snazzy pyjamas I would forget she's even had surgery. Thrilled with her recovery so far. I've trundled her slowly around the block and she's done everything she should do, and I therefore know she's tolerating the painkilling drug they've prescribed her very well. That's a real win.Listies written of the urgent outstanding stuff I've got to do and I'm feeling less frazzled by what's undone so far, but I'm still swamped by it all. I've also acquired Belovéd's cold, so I'm fully dosed up already.I went to a Carols by Candlelight with the local university choir and a string quartet last night with a neighbour. I realised I couldn't have ever been to a performance of the Messiah before (excerpts) because neither of us had any idea we were supposed to stand for the Hallelujah Chorus and we weren't the only ones. We do now. I won the raffle!

Tree is up and decorated.
Tractors are going past on their way to the starting point ready for their Tractor Run, which sets off from the neighbouring village at 4.

Slow start to the day today despite being awake early, breakfast and exercises done.
Flying wise - have sorted the hallway, all surfaces dusted, all shoes sorted and floor hoovered. Washing of florr will commence shortly and wiping down of the skirtings.
Will then need to prep chicken casserole for dinner in the slow cooker.
Feels really light today as not been out and not achieved much either
Mortgage, paid off!7 -
Slow day here too. I did finally get going and thoroughly dusted and vacuumed the LR and DR. The DR might be ok, but the LR will get more dust tomorrow no doubt when the builders return. It looks temporarily better though. Bathrooms given a quick s&s, bedroom dusted and vacuumed. This afternoon I have ended up prepping a load of baking to fill the oven. All nicely cooking now.
A small number of presents finally wrapped yesterday. No progress today.
Glad to hear that Wren is doing well.
Apart from cooking tea and the inevitable clearing up, that’s me done for the day. See you on the other side x5 -
We are away on holiday so no need for household cleaning but we do need to keep our holiday cottage tidy. I realise that myself and DH are naturally untidy people 🤷♀️
Christmas cards have been written and I will post them tomorrow. I really enjoy choosing a nice card for people and writing personalised messages. Gives me a warm glow thinking of our family and friends. Fingers crossed the Royal Mail deliver them all and deliver them on time.
we did some washing and the clothes are dry, folded and ready to go home with us.6 -
Haven't done much over the weekend (I know I never do 😂 ) as I had the GS for a sleepover and DD2 came to help. DD1 and partner wanted some time to get rid of old toys and sort out baby2 bedroom without any "help".
Most of the weekend we watched children's telly and playing Pirates with our wooden pirate ship and people. For some reason I always have to be the shark 🤔
When he was picked up this morning DD1 dropped myself and DD2 to @rgos so I could pick up the laptop my lady at the job centre brought so I could do my BSL course.
When I got home I didn't feel like doing anything including cooking so I had cereal for dinner.
GS is back tomorrow so I'm waiting to see the new thread so I can decide what I can fit in between him and my parents. DD2 is working so can't come and help out.

Evening. Both beds stripped and remade yesterday and half washed and dried yesterday and the rest today. All up to date with clothes washing too. Went and did a little shopping with DD2 this morning and although it was busy it was nowhere near as bad as I feared.Really tired now but unfortunately 6.30 is a bit early for bed.......Very pleased to read that Wren is doing well. Hope everyone's OK x6

Thank you Honey Bear4 -
I created the thread for next week yesterday when I was avoiding doing admin lol - good job I did as I have been unexpectedly out all day at DD's BF's - they were having their family xmas there so lots of new faces! I was asked if I'd like to go this morning ... would have been churlish to refuse, I suppose.eltee2 said:
Valli Have to say I thought I'd lost a week when I stumbled across next week's thread!

I've been in a while chilling in front of the TV (CtM on i player) but I'm tired. DW has been emptied anyway.
Pleased to hear Wren's recovery is going well. Looking forward to my Flylady cards arriving tomorrow - I hope!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
