I’ve had a lazy day and watched TVinc Traffic cops mainly because it’s filmed locally…and half of Cooper and Fry which, whilst set here isn’t filmed here though there was an aerial shot of Matlock Bath and we do have a stone circle but they changed the name…and the stones aren’t the right type of stone…

- aqua aerobics
- finished snowman's hat and started scarf
- took car in for service. Friend picked me up from the garage and we went to C0sta. She seemed to like the 'cracker' flower arrangement. Happy to say that remaining flowers are perking up with more water and regular spraying.
- a bit more general tidying/decorating/list writing

Morning lovely ladies,
I am back, even if only for a short stint so thank you lovely ladies for keeping this thread going.
The house is a bear pit as we have had tradies in since our holiday in September. We have a lovely new bathroom that what was 2 small rooms connected by an archway. The old bathroom has now been stripped of its wood panelling and is being replastered (as we speak) so am still living upside down and there is carp in every room. Every step has had issues along the way being an old house but we are getting there, albeit frustrating as I wanted everything done well before Christmas which hasnt even surfaced in our house yet. The Christmas decs are in the eaves cupboards off my bedroom and currently blocked by some of the junk from the old rooms.
So I need to focus and have a few days off work now so need to start on the list instead of dithering like I usually do. DH is away for a few days in the caravan, DD is at work and it's just me, the dog and action today.

Morning all,
My list for today
Do paid stuff
Do uni work
Take some more things to the auction house
Empty the living room bin
Take the dog for a long walk
Check banking and dds
Check reward accounts and cash in
Laundry (2 loads)
Hoover downstairs
Take DD to the stables so she can check on and feed her pony
Take DD to guides for her festive party
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Thursday.

Morning all,
Welcome back, Kazmeister.
We had a lovely day out yesterday with friends - pub lunch at a pub that we haven’t been to for 20+ years, then a walk in the woods at a country park that I haven’t been to for nearly as long. Before we went, I excelled in the flying department (by my standards) and cleaned the ensuite, downstairs cloakroom, and did HHI. More plaster dust swept up, the gift that keeps on giving.
The builders are not here today, keeping fingers crossed for tomorrow. Mr M should be delivering shortly, then this evening we are out for dinner with my ex work colleagues. Celeriac soup is simmering, wm x 1 done, utility room and DR given a quick vac. Christmas has arrived in the LR from the loft. Yet more Stuff to step over and around.7 -
Hello all. Hope you're ok.
Busy day here. I have done one work shift, walked Poppet and from the lists I have deleted old numbers from my phone, updated my address book, cleaned all computers, screens etc and dusted living room and HSL.
Another work shift beckons soon and I've a work function in York tonight.
No flying will get done tomorrow as I'm off to the coast for a Xmas dinner with friends.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Hellooo everyone.. 👋🏼
No real flying today just basics as it’s my birthday and I’m having a slow pottery day with no real aim of doing anything but reading, chatting and drinking tea!Have been thoroughly spoiled with kindness and thoughtful gifts by my hubster and am so very grateful.. only too aware of how things were many moons ago & it’s a very sharp contrast, that’s for sure.Lots of love shown as always from familam, both chosen and real 🥰
Hope I’m forgiven for being a total slacker today 🤞🏼🤣"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇6 -
Welcome back Kazmeister! :wave:Up early again, one load though the WM and pegged out before my Foodbank shift; all three loads have been hauled back in because it's sprinkling and I'm not sure whether it means it or is just kidding. Either way, it's all draped over driers, racks, chairs and peggy twirly things from door jambs.Very busy at the Foodbank; I did about three hours and I've brought a lot of paperwork home to do, with some Service Users trying to 'book a Christmas parcel'! Err, we're for emergencies and people in crisis - how do you know you'll be in crisis in two weeks? Paying rent isn't a crisis - we all have to do it all year round and we all know when it's due. I wish that sense of entitlement that a very few people have could be educated out of them. Telling them everything we have to give out is donated by people who want to help anyone and everyone in emergencies and when an unexpected crisis occurs doesn't seem to be cutting it any more, and the people who staff the desk are on the receiving end of a quite a bit of aggression at the moment.Quick trip to the carpet place to pick up four mats we had whipped from offcuts when the stair carpet frayed throug,h and then through the underlay, and I could no longer live with the problems somewhere else caused by Kelpie (long, long gone) having peeing competitions with Bosun (also long, long gone) and then Layla feeling insecure when men she didn't know came into the house and were loud (also long, long gone), and those areas were finally recarpeted a couple of weeks ago. We're also out tonight so I'm throwing in the towel now because as well as going out tonight I've got another early start tomorrow as I have to sedate Wren at 6.15 prior to her admission at 8.20 for surgery. This has not been my favourite week of the past few months.Better is good enough.7

Happy Birthday Madam Mim.
Welcome back Kazmeister.
Good luck for Wren tomorrow Honey_Bear.
Washing brought in - slightly damp but dry enough to iron. All previous washing (and there was lots) ironed and draped on airers to dry off properly.
Builders came yesterday as agreed and, hopefully, the house will stay dry. Food for thought - he pointed out that the houses still owned by the council are being re-roofed...our estate was built to (mainly) accomodate people who moved here from London as they worked for a Post Office department that was moved here and were offered for sale to tenants if people wished to buy well before 'Right to Buy' was a thing.
