Our employer sent quote requests for me and my wife off on the 19th December, with our retirement date being 14th May. We’ve had confirmation from Capita that the requests were registered on their system on the 24th December

Based on recent updates, I don’t expect to see a quote until June/July, and don’t expect payment to come through until September/October.

Thankfully, we’re in a reasonably comfortable position, and can manage that delay, but will almost certainly be applying for the £5K loans, simply to avoid having to move our money around.

I have been trying to logon this morning to view this months pension payslip. Although I receive the verification code it will mot allow me access to the portal.

Before reporting is anyone else able to access the portal today?

I got a letter today from Capita - one of those letters you can show to financial institutions if you facing hardship due to their mismanagement.

They can't even be bothered to proof read their correspondence as the date on heading of letter is "15th Aprol" spelt with an o not I

Although I have actually received my lump sum & pension due since I retired on 1st Dec (payments were late I may add and over taxed) this is the first time they have actually communicated with me!!.

I'm guessing letter was part of a mass distribution?

Yes, many have received it, all with the 'Aprol' date, and the letter text overtyped on the text in the footer area of the letter.

Comes across as so unprofessional with a spelling typo like this.

Meanwhile I think the HMRC motto regarding the start of any kind of pension income is "Never knowingly undertaxed"

  • My finalisation statement just came in the post. Hopefully means my pension payments will start next month after the bank holiday and five months after retirement.

No mention of my WPS refund on the statement. I’ve been chasing this payment for a while, wonder how much longer it’ll take to sort out?

Someone posted copies of the letter elsewhere on the internet, here they are for reference.
