New Capita-run Civil Service Pension Scheme - problems (what a surprise!)

I got the increase, but it seems very slightly less than 3.8% by my calculations.

It will be as only since 6th April - full increase in May (although you might get less if you retired/partially retired during last year

Just had a message from a recently (end of January) retired colleague who has yet to receive any payment.
He has been regularly emailing Capita to chase them up and has now received a letter effectively telling him to stop bothering them! 😮
Like me, he’s in a position where he can manage (for now, at least), so it’s not a desperate situation unlike some others, but it gives a snapshot of what they consider to be “customer service” 🙁3 -
Previously I had sent about a dozen secure messages - all ignored - they didn't even have the decency to send me a letter to tell me to stop bothering them 😂
But yes a sad state of affairs indeed.

oh I see, that appears to be anyone’s guess at present 🤔😬

My first pension payment appeared in the HMRC app yesterday, been mulling it over and I can’t make sense of the figures.
Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!

What tax code have you assumed will be operated?

I’m on 1257LX, hopefully the pension pay slip will explain all, assuming I get one. 😅

I was same tax LX emergency tax code for ,Dec/Jan/Feb payments. Never got any payslips.......
I'll just wait till HMRC do the 2025-2026 annual tax calculation for refund.

I officially became partially retired on 1 April (a joyful feeling after turning 60 😊) so just had my first pay packet with reduced salary yesterday. Not heard a peep from Capita about my pension or lump sum quote request (like others, this has been a worrying and disheartening time ☹) despite my Gov organisation submitting my request for a quote on 1 October 2025.
But I just wanted to share this latest information to this fantastic chat group (because honestly, you lot have truly been my buoyancy aid for very useful posts and links during this debacle) that an official letter arrived in today’s post from Capita dated 22 April ‘26 (so not sure where that has been?) in essence telling me four things.
1) “Your request has been received and logged on our system” – well hey, that is good news then!
2) “Each case is reviewed individually to reflect members circumstances” – ??!!Gee-whiz really, No xxxx Sherlock! As I was really hoping to receive quote details of some other random civil servant out there?!?!?
3) “In the meantime – STOP BOTHERING US WITH YOUR WHINGING, WHINING MESSAGES, we have a job to do here and you are just wasting our time”- OK, they didn’t actually use those words, but that is how I read the true meaning between the lines!
4) Finally, they confirmed that they didn’t really plan to get in touch with me at all (or the many others wating for quotes) by 10 April 2026 - Errhh? Yeah, well I realise that, as the 10 April came and went and you didn’t get in touch with me ☹
Just for good effect, I note the letter had no apology or provide any idea of timescales – so is as much use as a chocolate teapot as my dear mum would have said! 😊😊😊 Happy days…I am plodding on and trying to keep some humour in my heart and hope things get unblocked for us all soon!
