It's pay day for me, and not a moment too soon - the boiler at the new house is leeking, boo. When this happened to someone i know the unit was condemned, so I'm braced for the worst. I've sent a message to a gas engineer, now I'll have to just wait.
Getting savings back up is double important then. I have 2 savings accounts.
1. ISA - this is where I saved my deposit, from now on it'll be my FIRE fund. It's currently empty and apart from daily roundups, I wont be putting anything in it just yet.
2. Flexi saver - This was my emergency/big ticket fund and will carry on being that. It'll pay for my boiler, but it only had £2k left after purchase and moving costs.
Pay day savings totals now:
EF - £2,000 -> £2,500
FIRE - £0MFW: Journey started Nov 2025. Due to finish Nov 2053.

When you say the unit was condemned you mean the boiler right? It might be a good thing I know it is an expense you could do without but a lot of the more modern boilers are great and more energy efficient and they are generally cheaper then they used to be. Wishing you luck, P.S I am going to DM you as I know a boiler man who is very good I'll let you know the local area in the DM. Good LuckXXMs_Potato_Head said:It's pay day for me, and not a moment too soon - the boiler at the new house is leeking, boo. Thanks Crazy, yes I meant just the boiler! The engineer is coming on Friday to have a look. I like your thinking - it may well be a blessing in disguise in the long run. I feel a bit better already! Thank you 😊

Most of my time and energy this last week was taken up with cramming for a gruelling 3-hour exam. Glad I can forget about that now and concentrate on moving. I'm part way through deep cleaning and packing up the kitchen.
The gas engineer came round to the new house and thankfully the boiler is an easy, cheap fix so I won't need to dip into the EF. Sofa has been delivered - 2nd hand bargain from BHF, really happy with it.
This week's spendy spends were £154:
£58 food
£48 petrol
£23 school (dinners, bus, food tech ingredients)
£20 DS pocket money (for the month)
£5 birthday cards
Wishing all the lovely MFWs a good week ahead
