Today I am grateful for my big sis visiting, for lightbulb moments about my mental health, for tosco being the only ones to have pip's nuggets in stock and delivering them this morning, for not having to go out and drive anywhere today, for my needlefelting, for fairy lights.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

I have had a lovely day today, alarm went off at 5.30 and I just turned it off and rolled over. Got up at 6.15 because I wanted to and I could not ignore the rain hitting the window any longer. Wrote a cheeky work email about December work, then took DH out to a community thing and left him there, got wet, went to a cafe and had a raspberry croissant and a coffee, wandered round Le' Cathedral and saw Dicky 3's coffin, had lunch out with DH and came home. It is still raining. It was an allowed spend after 5 days of a 60 mile round trip to work with a 10+ hour working day. Kept within expenses allowances so ....(just off to check) .... sticking on NSD12.Will have to food shop tomorrow, and then the dentist again on Monday (boo! to dentists) so will trawl some charity shops as a reward for being brave.Gratitudes: It only rained once on the long commute in the dark, not having to commute again for a while, picking up another job in July, getting paid at the end of the monthSquirrels4/10/25Three Years Mortgage Free Yay!

Mrs Builder came so the shower room and kitchen are restored to order, many bags went out to the bins, my clean dry clothes are hung up (and I made DS3 come down and take away all Beloved's things). Together we swept under and around the cage, put it through the garden seive so any hay could go back in the cage and rubbish was bagged up. Progress was made on the washing but the lines look full. About half of the front room floor is clear and a lot of what's left is easy stuff (I have done lots of tedious nitty gritty stuff.
I only woke up at 10 am, the flu jab and walking round the SM have worn me out (and I'm sneezing again). I turned the heating on 2 days ago but I've also been wearing my wooly hat .
Grateful for pink pickled slaw, ginger shot for immunity, Downton and getting things done with wonderful Mrs Builder,7 -
Mrs Builder has been a Godsend. I'm so glad you found her. Well done on getting Beloved's things moved from your area. ((((hugs)))) XI Believe.....

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy5 -
Yesterday was a 'not much happened' day (my nose is running whilst my knees don't want to move). However I did reorder some of the supplements I no longer get on prescription. I had noticed they had a Black Friday offer (they do selective reductions quite often) and was glad I held off ordering 2 weeks ago. Reductions for buying more than one, reduced prices and then 35% off everything at checkout. So I now have 4 months magnesium, 6 months turmeric and black pepper and one year's worth of Vitamin D.
Late on I fought my way over to the bureau cupboard and found that I do have masks left. They were in there because of the stupid box - imagine putting masks in a 2 x 2 formation (large flattish box). So more have gone into a cubby hole and the rest of the box put back. Very grateful as the mental arithmetic of price comparison was doing my head in.
I'm trying to resist spending more money on my elder grand-daughter. I've bought job lots of 2nd hand brio and duplo. (Brio will be from her granddad in heaven). I also bought one small new set (parent and baby lions and penguins). I was very taken with the duplo dinosaurs but even 2nd hand, they are quite expensive (various sets over the years including new sets at £60). I'm not keen on the film and tv tie-ins so I haven't bought Bluey sets - her existing Bluey figures can come to play. I would also like a basic 'ideas' book (should have checked in the Werks last week).
My plan (of resistance) is
1) Wait until tomorrow to see what I actually bought.
2) Possibly nuy a good quality reasonably priced set of ordinary dinosaurs to encourage her to mix and match with her toys - everything doesn't have to be duplo, you don't have to follow a strict set of rules. One year I was going to a meeting and left the boys and their cousin with their dad and his brother. I had food ready for a Halloween party and I'd made the boys costumes of their choice. I upended the bos of lego and instructed them to make a pumpkin decoration with the yellow bricks, a ghost with the white bricks etc. This kept them occupied (boys from 3 to 42 + 1 2yo girl) until I returned from my meeting.
Today (once I get my legs going) is about chipping away at all the 'piles'. The washing needs sorting so more can go in the wash, kitchen stuff needs to go in the kitchen, veg starting with red cabbage and leeks needs to be chopped. I need order and caalm.
Grateful for distraction of Downton (nearly fell into the Hallmark well of wallowing), remembering where things are (or might be), having places I know to start.6 -
Happy Monday.
Only three weeks of work left, can't wait. NSD 13 today, had to do two top up shops this weekend as I wasn't checking properly. Will do a proper freezer inventory and meal plan so that we can switch one of the freezers of while we're away.
Had a productive and fun weekend. Built a pull out shoe rack next to the stairs, painted DD's and my desk top, varnished the stool DS built, started painting the hall, deep cleaned the bathroom, stripped beds, tidied the conservatory a bit and some more.
This weekend I was grateful for the satisfaction and joy DIY brings, cosy bed sheets, scandi dramas, christmas themed cooking shows, unprompted hugs from the teenage kids, Nuremberg Lebkuchen and salami sticks from LIDL.finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)5 -
Morning! (Just)
This is the last Monday of November. Just in case anyone has not noticed the bl00dy chirpy Xmas songs in the shops (grump grump grump) and December peeking in through the back window.
I am back from volunteering, NSD 13 today I think. The plan is to clean the house, make a menu plan and freezer/pantry inventory - spent nearly £100 yesterday restocking the gaps out of guilt at leaving DH as full time lone parent last week - Tessimo is selling a 7.5kg sack of aged basmati for £8 on cc. Bargain! Anyway, food is in the house and payday is Friday.
I will strip, wash, and remake all beds on rotation this week.
Once that is done, I will release Xmas from the loft.4/10/25Three Years Mortgage Free Yay!
