Hello,
I think I'm on NSD 7. Didn't get anymore gym days but still slept so much better the last few days which I haven't in ages. Don't even need ear plugs anymore to block out the chainsaw next to me, lol.
Had a lovely DIY curry yesterday that teenage DS helped to make. And guess what if you make it yourself you suddenly eat stuff that you picked out before because "Eurgh what is that" - now you know. Revelation for DS. We're still not keen on cutting chicken but I let him off with that.
Had a little breakthrough in work yesterday and will celebrate with a long pamper bath tonight, facemask and all. No real plans for the weekend yet. Got a list I could tackle.
Got a lovely message from a colleague yesterday. He inspired me to turn my hobby into a second income (potentially) opened my eyes to the perfect niche, so I gifted him a prototype and he LOVED it. I think I'll place that on the store (once open) section where you can tell about how your business came about etc, finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)8 -
Slept well but could still have slept some more. However I had found out how to get the last item on my list of things the solicitor wants and needed to get to the library (print off direct from the computer). The need to tackle the 'house mess' is becoming more urgent (part of the reason I keep ending up on the floor is due to cushions not staying where they've been put). I have done a lot - Mrs Builder had many bags waiting to be taken out to the bins - but still much to do.
Filled a rubbish bag and a paper bag and started on a second one of each. Weather was wild so no desire to go out in the yard (grateful for strong pegs as I only brought a few things in off the line). Worked mostly on the couch/ bed, a lot gone but will need to cut through the lining at some point as there was quite a lot down there. Bulk waste collection is set for December 18th and not sure I can hold out that long. There's a £25 couch surcharge if I call in waste wizards but I could get them to take all the (not my) junk in the backs and any random items from around the house. I'm sure DS3 has 2 appliances in the back bedroom which do not work.
Whilst I was working I was fighting the need to sleep and to eat (more than yoghurt). I found 3 drinks in all the mess so sat down with a drink and ate something warm. I still had not found my purse at that point (needed my library card to use the library computer). I knew it was somewhere on the couch as I had it for the Christmas shpping spree. Puled the last couple of things off the couch to remake the 'bed' and the purse was there. Thought about going to the library but the need to sleep was predominating (I hadn't worked out how I was going to get the stuff to the solicitor's anyway).
Made up the bed (bottom cushion was pulled out which will have added to the instability) curled up under the duvet and a bedspread and slept. I intended to read myself to sleep but was asleep before I'd read a word. Woke up 3 minutes before the library closed so didn't rush (I'm going dizzy when I sit up from lying down). Will get it done Saturday and phone my brother to come and collect everything and take it to the solicitor. Felt much better after my sleep but tok things slowly, watched a bit more Downton, organised food for myself, moved some full bags to the kitchen.
I have turned the laptop off once but sleep wasn't happening. I'm not wide awake, sleep will happen soon but just having a little break.
Grateful for the man who came to read the meters, sleep, clearing the bed to make it work better (still want to replace it asap).8 -

Grateful for the Centre across the road from me - their shutters were all down and it clicked that it was only Sunday. My brother has been to collect assorted paperwork for the solicitor. Had a limited food delivery early this morning - have eaten all the old bread so I don't get confused. bags taken to the bins and more lined up ready (apart from knockig out my sheer curtains, the storm has made a bit of a mess in the back yard. I've done a bit of tidying but didn't want to be going back and forth when it got dark.7

Finally another NSD! Think that might be 4 now.
Thanks for your good wishes @apple_muncher. It was very cold on the boat both ways & choppy on the way back, but we'll worth it to finally have the sign in our possession 😍 the policeman had bought cookies & made us a drink too. Think he was touched by the box of local fudge I gave him & the thank you letter. He emailed after reading it, that it meant a lot to him. Pleased I did it now, he's been amazing!
Put my few bits if shopping away, managed to get some things for presents ready for next month. Pottered in the house, dud the ironing & moved a pile of papers off the sette, do now I'm not squeezing myself in between them 😊
Did 2 sewing jobs in the afternoon, then knitted after tea. DS3 sat with me with his knitting for half an hour too 😀
Grateful for a very kind policeman, having the sign now & time to craft without being squashed up on the settee!Use it up, wear it out

Good morning,
still need to catch up with this weekend's posts as I'm usually not online much then.
It's NSD 9 today, cycled to work in 3C, it was baltic.
Had a productive and delicious weekend. Started building a wee pullout shoe rack for the kids shoes in an awkward recess next to the stairs, made a cushion, slow cooked a christmas ham for dinner and have loads of leftover for the week (for some reason a proper, skin on ham, was cheaper per kilo than those little gammon things you get) and baked a triple chocolate cake. LOVE cozy season, hot tea, crochet, onsies etc.finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)5 -
Did you ever have one of them days turtles.
Spent the morning getting ready, tidying and trying not to go back to sleep. Had a can of soup for lunch. At 2 pm I left to go for my flu jab (2.40 pm). No face masks left in the cubby hole but thought I could get one at the infirmary.I knew the bus lane was suspended and 2 bus stops out of action so decided to go round the corner to the taxi office. It was closed, they've joined forces with another taxi firm and moved to the far side of the bus station. I went to the traffic lights and turned left to see if the other two bus stops were in use. Yes. Waited there but was unsure if I'd missed the bus or not.
Phoned for the taxi to come to me - nothing available till 3 pm - 3.30 pm. Checked my phone which said it was later then that. Went into the bank to ask for the correct time - one hour earlier. Wasn't sure whether to go back to the stop outside the bank or go to the bus station. Started to move towards the bus station (crossed the first set of lights). Bus came out of the bus station but coulcn't turn and get back to the bus stop in time. Continued to the bus station and sat to phone the doctor's surgery to ask if they could put me at the end of the list and I'd try to get there.
The phone I had with me did not have the new phone number in it (must have been charging when I did the other one).
Went to B00ts to get face masks - they've stopped selling them. I told her to get some as 4 dangerous viruses about. Made my way home slowly and shakily. Phoned the doctor's to apologise and have another appointment on Thursday but it's at the other surgery (going to book a taxi anyway).
Wiped out, very little acheived (had a side quest of ordering my repeat prescription and being dropped off at a stop for more shopping). Ate sandwiches sitting on the couch and have now retreated under the covers. Tomorrow is another day.
Grateful for a rainbow outside my window, bank and doctor's staff being pleasant and helpful, Downton episodes.8 -
