This morning I cut up a papaya that I had in my recent liddle box - shamefully, I'd had to use goggle lens to ID it as I didn't recognise it - it could've been a variety of squash given what it looked like! Then added a persimmon, 4 satsumas, frozen blueberries and frozen mango. Yum! And 5 fruit in one hit!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Good morning,
today will be NSD 5/11 and gym 6/11.
Had a few spendy days, big shop, kids needed some shoes and jackets etc and also donated to the poppy people (forever grateful for the sacrifices made to liberate us and end this madness, that's the way I see it being German). I wish more lessons had been learnt from that past....
Hoping for NSDs the rest of the week, well till Sat maybe.
Need to get my act together too in terms of Xmas as we'll be away from the 17th and need to have everything sorted by them. There is people with trees up and gardens full of Santas etc already!!! Although, to be honest, whatever cheers people up this year in those dire time.finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)9 -
Productive day yesterday:
Making and fulfilling xmas lists. Ordered all my drinks and chocs for 18 people plus a few to share with any visitors. Arriving Friday. It was so satisfying seeing I was buying £137 worth of drinks, but got a big discount for using my clubcard, and then used my vouchers,£93,and ended up paying only £4.Cool!
Reading and doing maths for keeping the mind sharp is going well. With my new glasses I am able to read much more easily. I am doing a reading challenge with my book group.Have completed two books and am halfway through the other two.Maybe later I'll post the challenge to entertain you !
NSDs still undetermined. My old account is still active till 17th Nov,but the online account info went offline weeks ago. The last record I have of my money activities is on my statement, last transaction showing is 22nd October. And up at the cash machine they havent been issuing paper receipts since about August . If I feel like just wanting a quick balance check I have to get all dressed and go out in the rain to do so!.
Not looking forward to having to set up the new app for the new account. Also a bit shocked at just how many companies I often buy from who will need updating with my new card details. Amaz*n,Tesc*,Morris* n,Asd@,M&S,B*nmarche,Arg*s, plus bookshops and a host of others. I do almost all buying on line. Only milk and bread and an occasional birthday card at the corner shop.
Yesterday I donated to British Legion,£5 to their poppy fund. I also bought online two enamel poppy brooches ready for next year. I always donate to the poppy appeal but to my shock the new owners of the cornershop werent selling poppies this year! First year in forever.
I am determinedly eating up stuff in freezer I want to use it up,clear out stuff and restock a drawer at a time ,with more fruit and veg prominent.Think I have to go onto mostly eating pots of soup. Back in 2017 I did this, removed bread and many starches from my diet, and stuck to it faithfully. In a matter of months I lost best part of 4 stone, kept it off for 2 years then put on some weight. Now I am still 2 stone below the 18st 2lb I started out at back then. Then I developed this stupid stick at one weight for ever situation and various anaemia thyroid things and its been miserable ever since.Anyway I will have plans in place to start in January. Will try to keep just under the 16st level rest of this year.

A boring day, a few things got moved back to where they belong. Many bags waiting by the back door. Lots of sleeping/ dozing (knees still complaining). Food mainly from the fridge.
Grateful for Mrs Builder is coming tomorrow, feeling that I just want to get rid of things, enjoying my latest book.7 -
Spot cleaned a few small spills on the living room carpet. Nice and clean again.
All food from stores - big veg stew for supper, chickpea curry and home made naan for lunch.
Got confirmation from bank 1 that I am definitely switching an account to bank 2 on Friday.
Gutted a mattress and deboned the springs. The scrappy will take the metal, just the fabric stuff to get rid of now.
Had a session in the pantry putting stuff in glass jars. Looks nicer now. I seem to have accumulated 8 sweet potatoes 🥔 I do not remember doing this.
Meal planned for the rest of the week.

A busy few days. Staff night out Friday gor a teacher who's moving away. Stayed over at mum's. Knitted saturday morning, looked round 2 CS then food shop. Visited the partially sighted mum of DS1's friend, who was feeling lonely while her DD was on holiday.
Sunday did some cleaning, walked to the cemetery, then tackled a sewing frog whilst watching a dvd to now donate.
Work yesterday, then a walk with a friend in the dark. Heard the policeman now has the sign DS1 wrote on, so me & DS3 are heading down on the boat Friday night, to collect it. DH thinks it's a shopping trip for DS3's GF birthday present!
Terrible morning at work. Pupil realised they'd done wrong. I shed a few tears, & they gave me a hug & rubbed my arm, which I thought was very empathetic of an 8 year old with learning disabilities! Good support from other staff too. One of whom appreciated the flowers I'd given her this morning, after a bereavement. Sewing tonight.
Grateful for friends & supportive colleagues, a good time with mum, getting the sign back soon, special hugsUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

Gratitudes yesterday- beautiful sunrise, finalising winter holiday plans, dh fixing my bathroom light switch and the beautiful carpet of leaves on the ground 😁
No exercise done - ds is ill so doesn't want me to walk the dog in case I pick up the illness and I didn't feel like doing anything at home.
Dinner was a pumpkin, black bean, pineapple and smoked tofu chilli; mixed grains (oat groats, rye berries, barley groats, short grain brown rice) barberries, sunflower seeds and hemp seeds; rocket, strawberries, black grapes, pomegranate and broccoli sprouts with blood orange balsamic. I dolloped a bit of Greek style 'yoghurt' on the side'Happiness is not a destination but the journey you walk every day'

NSD - 7 so far this month - partly because I am afraid to spend.
Only outside to turn on and off the water for the pool - wish it was swimming weather.
Thinking about what to get for 2 grandnephews and grandniece. They all have birthdays in December also! But I really only have to buy for them and for Secret Santa person (if we get around to drawing names). Have presents for everybody if we need to go that route - mostly books and puzzles.
Had my banana first thing this morning, ate grapes later. Need to work on the veggies. Problem is teeth - I have ones that come out. Not good for eating things like raw carrots and celery. And I can't stand up to prepare veggies to cook. Any suggestions?
Did the chart for the next 8 days. Need to put what everyone is doing on it as we only have one car at the moment. Several of us get medical transport free. And the special handicapped bus will take us places for a small fee. Try to cooridinate it all to make sure I call in time.
Got a lot of exercise today. My physical therapist came. He comes twice a week. I try to do the exercises on days when he doesn't come. I also have a series of exercises I do at bedtime, mostly in bed.
Donate - have a bag of books to take to the library tomorrow. All mysteries. Trying for two or three bags a week.
We are expecting rain on Thursday and Friday. A lot of rain according to the weather people. Then it heads across the country and continues your way. So I hope you all can stay warm and dry.8 -
Yesterday I enjoyed the Armistice Day ceremonies. Its unbelievable that my grandfather actually died in WWI. Joseph Walton was a sergeant n the Yorkshire Regiment. In 1915 he was awarded the Military Medal, a special medal for non commissioned officers. It was awarded for gallantry. Joseph heard one of his men crying out in No Man's Land, and ran in and picked him up and carried him to safety. Sadly in April of 1917 no one was there to carry him to safety. 4000 men died on Flanders Fields over a period of 3 days. So many died in vain, because then the generals decided that they really should take pressure off the French,so ordered the decimated troops to go off in a different direction to keep the german eyes on them while the French escaped.Oh boy,General Melchett played by Stephen Fry brilliantly was a spot on endictment of the upper class militar leaders..
Remember Blackadder and his friends going over the top and the smoke clearing to show a field of poppies? That was a masterpiece. My grandfather was one of those poppies.
My Grandmother was left a widow at 26. My mother, the eldest of three kids, was only six and a half.. She left school at 10 to take care of her little brother and sister, because her mother had to get a job.The widow's pension was derisory.,hardly enough to keep flesh on bones
I remember all this with awe and respect each year8
