Re the XTB offer, opened the account and inserted one of the codes during the registration process. Did the first part of the identity verification (passport plus selfie video) and then it has requested photo of a recent bill so done that and how says ‘we are in the process of verifying your documents . Account will be activated as soon as possible we’ll notify you by email.’ So can’t do the £200 deposit yet. Is this the same process others have been through and how long did it take for the account to be activated once submitting the bill photo?

I didn't have to upload a bill: perhaps your address wasn't verified electronically? My account was activated a few minutes after uploading my passport and doing the selfie.

I had to go through various verification steps myself. All of them seemed to require some manual intervention at XTB and their agents, all done within 20-30 minutes, and I could then make my deposit by card.

I am now stuck in the bank account verification (needed for withdrawals), which again needs their manual interaction. Their CS probably only works Monday to Friday, so I don't now expect further action over the weekend.

No photo ID scanning or any other ID process.

I guess the background checks were all solid.

Not tried withdrawing money/selling share, wary of their terms that say "don't take the p1ss" (I paraphrase), so will probably leave alone for a week or so.

Perhaps I beat the rush or got lucky? My nominated account was approved five minutes after I uploaded a statement.

XTB. What are peoples experiences of identity verification?

I signed up entering promo code etc, it says "verify identity" I click on that and it just sends me to a page with a password. That password opens the pdf they emailed, but I'm very confused as to what that has to do with verifying identity.

thanks to those who replied to this. For info I subsequently found via Google that document verification usually take a few mins but in some instances can take a few hours or up to a day. Guessing as w e probably won’t be until Monday now which may be a problem as the free stocks available might have run out by then.

My experience of XTB sign-up was the same.

It took more time to download the XTB App, than anything else - 3-4 minutes. Around 2-3 minutes for my Nominated Bank Account for deposits & withdrawls to be confirmed, once my account was created. Although the initial £200 deposit was made by my nominated bank card - 1-2 minutes.

Plus, 4% interest calculated daily on univested cash and paid on the 5th of the month for those waiting to withdraw their initial £200 funding. Although there are slightly better easy access interest rates, the free Nvidia share more than makes up for the interest rate difference.
