Just this minute (11.35 am) arrived through my letterbox -A letter from HM Government informing me that I will receive the Warm Home Discount automatically and don't need to contact them.I wasn't expecting a letter, they have always only said they would send a letter if you needed to apply. The first line after Dear Mr xxx is a trumpeting of how they have expanded the scheme this year , so I guess they want to shout 'Look how good we are being to you'.Bit of a waste of paper and the delivery cost if you ask me, espicially as the WHD was credited into my account a week ago. (But I guess the letter has taken a week to get here).Being fair, I know that such a letter will be a reassurance to many who haven't got the credit yet.PS. A brown envelope too. They were supposed to have stopped using those because the automatic machines at the sorting offices can't read the address barcode if it's on a manilla (brown) background.4

Good timing - I was in the middle of reading this thread and received an email from EDF to say I qualify for the Warm Home Discount. I've just checked my account and the credit is now showing. It wasn't showing just 20 minutes ago so has just been added.1

beyondthestars said:Has anyone received theirs from Octopus yet?Not yet. Plenty of people here are with Octopus, so I'm sure you will hear as soon as they start making payments. Maybe Friday 31st if I were making a guess, so check on the weekend? Our green credentials: 12kW Samsung ASHP for heating, 7.2kWp Solar (South facing), Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh), Net exporter1

I also got this for the first time ever, I'm with British Gas. I'm assuming it's because I've moved to a new flat which has now made me eligible. Very bizarre because this flat has a way better energy rating and is a newer build with the same storage heaters than my previous flat and I'm still on the same benefits. Not entirely sure how the eligibility works especially since this flat uses way less energy, not complaining though.0

the energy efficiency criteria introduced in recent times is dropped this year to again make the system simpler like it used to be and based on your circumstances rather than property.. in a nutshellBemmy2525 said:I also got this for the first time ever, I'm with British Gas. Before the property eligibility (which has now been dropped) there used to be a health or age criterion as well as claiming a means-tested benefit.Bemmy2525 said:I also got this for the first time ever, I'm with British Gas. Now the only criterion is claiming a qualifying means-tested benefit, so many people who are not disabled and don't have very young children have become eligible for the first time this year.2 -
Thank you for explaining so simply and understandable 😊Spoonie_Turtle said:

My Octopus payment didn't come until early December last year, just checked. Not sure if they pay out in batches though.beyondthestars said:Has anyone received theirs from Octopus yet?1
