Rumble is proper comfort food dfwb321.Busy day doing lots of little jobs. After dropping off the youngest at college, mum and I drove to the hospital to find out where the mobile mri scanner is ready for Friday. Then called at markies as the eldest had been to 2 stores for my mum’s present but it was out of stock, it was in mine so sorted. Prescriptions dropped off and then called at the coffee roasters as mum is getting Mr 🐞 a selection of coffee beans for Christmas. 4 parcels dropped off (ice skates, purse, watch and books). Phew.Bestie came over to trade presents ( recycled box, purchased from independent shop and made by a local business using sustainable materials) and swap gossip. She is hoping to get over to see the eldest plGot soaked picking up the youngest and got even more wet taking miss giddychops for walk. Quick tidy up and Mr 🐞 has put up the paper chains🎉.

Another bitty day planned🧐. The rain apparently is not stopping until after I’ve gone out, so washing won’t get dry unless I dehumidify it. Looks like another wet walk for me and miss giddychops.I’ve got olio requests to pick up later, mainly bread. Planned to have it with soup.Right miss giddychops won’t walk herself

Mr🐞 is finished. He had a lovely card and the head of his department actually apologised for how things turned out ( wasn’t his decision) and wished him good luck for the future. Mr🐞 was especially touched by one of his work colleagues who thanked him for taking him under his wing and taught him lots of skills , gave him lots of knowledge and generally encouraged him. Mr 🐞is really going to miss him. We went out to the pub to celebrate. At 5pm the place was rammed and we ended up sitting in the beer garden for over an hour, just as we were going to leave a table became free , so we stopped and had tea too.
Sales on V and the bay are going well, except someone has asked for a refund saying something doesn’t work. It worked before it left here, so I’m not sure if it’s a scam. Decided to pay for it to be returned before they can have a refund via the bay. So we’ll see if I’ve called their bluff. If it does come back I’ll sell it for parts to recoup the postage I’ve had to buy.Meeting up with Mr 🐞’s family today.

It sounds like some positives for Mr 🐞on his last day in that job. Lovely that people who knew him well took the trouble to be specific in their messages.
Enjoy the family day.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Kind of bittersweet getting that validation on the last day like that, but I hope it’s bucked up Mr 🐞’s confidence a bit as these are always bruising processes …
When does he start work again? Am hoping for a long, relaxing break for both of you 😊

He starts work 1st week of the new year KK.Family day yesterday was lovely, I wasn’t overly impressed with the meal to be honest, but I didn’t pay so…… We went for a walk at the local nature reserve to walk some calories off and get some fresh air before heading home.Today I sold another item that I transferred from the bay over to V and sold within 30 minutes. It’s the biggest item I’ve sold to, luckily Mr🐞 found a box for it to go in. Received money from another sale. Total sales this year ( well last 6 weeks as that’s how long I’ve done it for) is £200 odd. Eldest has bought a few items for me to sell and told to put it in the funpot. Hopefully I will raise enough from them to pay for a night or two camping. We’ve decided to camp next year for a couple of days at a place I used to go to as a kid. So I’ve set myself the challenge to up my walking once I’ve seen dr about my knee/hip issues next week. The youngest has opted out of the trip. Did offer YHA which was turned down too.Today the eldest and I went to drop off a gluten free cake at my bestie house. Her in laws don’t take her intolerance into consideration. I wanted her to have something nice Christmas Day and to know someone thought about her. We then went to sm and got that excited about Christmas dinosaur planters and pistachio ice cream etc we forgot to get the stuff for the food bank. So we emptied the shopping into the car and went back in. We whizzed round picking up stuff (24items as it’s advent) and deposited in the donation bins. The eldest paid for fb donation and discovered they were missing a bank card . Que panic and chuntering. Got them to narrow it down to when they went for a milkshake and that was the last time it was used. They checked no additional transactions had been made. Told them to ring the place on the off chance and luckily it was there. Apparently they had tried to contact them via facebook, but the eldest rarely uses it and doesn’t have messenger. Anyway drama over , eldest asked them to cut it up as they won’t be able to retrieve it in the next couple of weeks and has ordered a new one. Anyway food shopping is done, I do not need to go near a sm unless it for petrol this up and coming week.We lit candles to celebrate winter solstice and to welcome the return of light. Played quite a few games and then watched tv as people were very tired.Tomorrow first thing I have an audiology appointment and then I need to pick up olio requests. We are then venturing into town as a new board game shop has opened before taking the kids out for cake.Right best get some sleep 😴

I'm glad the card was found! Probably best to make sure the bank have cancelled it just in case it gets into the wrong hands, but hopefully that's just me being 'belt and braces'.
Well done on the V sales.

Ooh, what sort are you going for? DH had to try a couple of different ones before he found what works for him, but his are also bluetooth which is amazing and weird at the same time because he hears clearly on his phone, but often doesn't understand what I'm saying when in the same room.
I think his have helped with the tinnitus: the ears are no longer compensating for what they perceive as silence, if I've understood it rightly.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
