Pocketbook have launched their UK eBook store https://pocketbook.uk/, can be read on their own devices or via apps that support LCP DRM.flaneurs_lobster said:Should add that there are other sources of eBooks that can be loaded to eBook readers, probably the largest source of paid-for content (after Amazon) is Google's book store. An internet search will find others.0 -

Amazon no longer support newspapers via an Amazon subscription. There are ways to subscribe to web-based news sites and then convert them to a supported Kindle format but it's convoluted.Emmia said:

Libby works on Android tablets too, as well as in a regular browser. I use Libby and PressReader apps on my Pixel tablet, and on Chrome on my laptop. Both platforms are supported by my library at no cost.J_B said:

For free books try NetGalley.
They work with publishers and authors, offering free books.
You register to become a member, select your favourite type of books and will be offered which to read which you can choose. There is also a large range of books which you can request on the website. All you have to do is review at NetGalley, Amazon, Waterstones, or Goodreads, whichever you prefer.
Through the years I've been offered hundreds of books, found new authors which I enjoy reading, and haven't spent a penny on purchasing. You read the books before publication, and it helps the authors when you submit feedback.
I use an Ipad Mini, with a Kindle and NetGalley app, there are also other ways of choosing to read the ebooks.
Have a look and see what you think.

I recently bought a Bigme which is essentially an Android tablet but with e-ink. And as such you can download apps such as BorrowBox and Libby to it as well as Kobo and Kindle.
It's far from the fastest thing in the world and has more than a few bugs! but if you just want to read on Library apps and on e-ink it works perfectly fine. And you don't need the faff of transferring via Adobe on your PC.
