I got the Ultra last year, around the end of September. The first time I used the card was October, in France. Never had any issues then or since. It is odd how some have lots of issues. It cannot be random. There must be something that just isn’t immediately obvious.1 -
I applied last year, I think around Sept/Oct when it came out, basically to swap from their 0.25/0.5% (after £4k spend) cashback card, got a £4k limit and never had any issues paying on google pay except for occasionally at the car place for servicing when I had to do it via PIN on the card. Cashback has been very good, up to about £60 now. The decision will be what to do after it ends!

I have the Lloyds Ultra as well as the Halifax Clarity: Does the Ultra exchange at the same rates/fees as the Clarity?

They will both be on the Visa and from the the same group so I imagine so. There are no fees at least for spending

Yes, I get that but I was thinking more along the lines of exchange rates. I recall getting the Clarity card because I read that it had a near-perfect exchange rate.

Exchange rates are determined by the scheme provider (Mastercard/Visa/AMEX), the banks have no control over them, so a Halifax Clarity will have the same exchange rate as a Lloyds Ultra which will have the same rate as a NatWest debit card etc.

Thanks for your help. My original post was with respect to rates/fees. There obviously is a different in what it'll cost me according to the tables on this site Top travel cards: the best credit and debit cards to use abroad
What I have not been able to locate is the 'exchange load' for Lloyds Clarity, anybody that can direct me to that specific answer, I thank you.
FWIW, I do intend to cull the Halifax if the loads/rates, etc. are the same as I am streamlining my banking and do not want a dormant credit card that does not give me cashback but if it beats the Lloyds loads/rates, etc. I'll keep them both!

As said above, exchange 'load' for Lloyds Ultra and Halifax Clarity is the same - 0% 'load' on the rate used by Visa.
And both don't charge fee for ATM withdrawals.
However Clarity is worth keeping as it has an unique feature unrelated to travel. It's no-fee money transfers to a current account. Possibly, not needed by a person waning 'streamlined' banking.

For the no fee money transfers - do they charge interest from day 1? I think they do but I cannot quite recall
