Lloyds Ultra Credit Card

What made people choose the Ultra 1% card rather than a purchase card?

Already have 3 maxed out purchase cards and wasn't getting any more offers with decent limit and or period.
Just had notification I've earned over £12 cashback on Ultra in first 17 days of use, despite groceries spend being on my 2% Chase CC too.
Not a normal month though. It's school holidays 😎

I don't need even more 0% debt bouncing along!
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

as the first 12 months are coming up to an end, does anyone have a clue whether if the card is cancelled and applied for again you get another 12 mo 1% cashback, or this is 'once in a lifetime' offer?

It's a loss leader for Lloyds as they usually get a interchange income of 0.3% and are giving out 1%

Some people with Lloyds Premier accounts, are reporting that they've been given 1% cashback on the Ultra card for a second year.

my promotional 1% rate ends next week, just received email from lloyds to say cashback rate will now go .5% rather the the .25% rate, will use combo of chase and lloyds over next 12 mths and once eligible to apply, will look again at amex cashback cc

May be a loyalty thing or something, do you have an account with them?
I will switch to Halifax for the rest of the year as they have a promo 0.5%,probably close Lloyds once I have the cashback and see about an AmEx unless Lloyds give me an offer
