Thanks for all the comments we are really pleased with it and sadly yes Mike is married. Really strange not having him around can leave the house in a bit of a mess during the day which is quite nice.
Managed to restrain myself at Ikea only spend £30 and £19 of that was for a present for my friend. Got a nice Orchid for the new cloakroom it looks really nice £8 incl a nice white pot they are usually about £15 to £20 minus the pot in a garden centre.
Working from home the next two days have a ton of work to do so need to get on with it.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Afternoon
Been quite a good Money Saving Day today so thought I would share it with you.
Went to TK Max got a Super King Size duvet cover 100% cotton and 300 thread count for £35. £5 cheaper than I have seen it anywhere and a better quality.
I then used last years frozen blackberries and the jam sugar I had left over (also from last year) to make 5 jars of Blackberry jam.
Went to the in laws as their Sky Box had died. They love golf so really desperate to get it fixed. We could not do anything it looked stuffed and Sky had quoted £60 to send out and engineer.
My FIL is a bit hard of hearing so I offered to phone up Sky to see how much it would be to upgrade to Sky+ and get a new box that way.
First number we tried we were told to call back later as they were too busy. I thought that can't be right surely they would have sales people in the office on a Sunday so tried a number for new customers and bingo got through.
My god turned out to be hard work as 80 year old MIL had to give authority before I could speak to them. Anyway the guy was hopeless could not take down any of details correctly and his office was so noisy.
Offered Sky+ for just under £200 which I did not like as new customers get it for £99 plus free installation. I said what about Sky+ and multi room as they have a second TV and will at some point need a digibox for that.
He took forever but in the end quoted me £284. I could not believe that price so said that they would consider going to Virgin and I was disappointed as loyal Sky customers they could not get a better deal. He spoke to his supervisor and we got it for £184 all in. Nice that is for 2 Sky boxes (only 1 will be Sky+) and installation. They can’t install it until the 7th October but at least it is done. I have no idea how older people manage things like that you really are stuck if you don’t have email or internet.
Gosh that was a long post just wanted to add I have finally got around to looking at Freecycle. Signed up ages ago but never used it. I have posted some of my spare tiles and an old bike and is getting lots of requests for it. Have a look yourself masses of stuff on there. Freecycle.org.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Freecycle is brilliant all my stuff is now gone and it makes you feel so good you have saved something from going on a landfill site. I can't belive I was signed up for it for so long before I bothered to work out how to you it so for those who don't know what it is this is how you do it:
1. Sign up via Freecycle.org and choose your local group. It is via Yahoo groups so you need to sign up to that too with a username etc etc but can link it to any email address. Takes minutes once who have a Yahoo log in.
2. Get approved by your local group leader (did not take that long)
3. Log in and see all the messages that people have posted they all start with things like Offered or Wanted. If something has been taken it says Taken. If you fancy any of it you email the person asking if you can have it and they choose who gets it. Might need to be quick as some goes very quickly. Make sure you put when you can pick the stuff up. Who can sign up to get daily alerts.
4. Post your own stuff on there (works a bit like posting on here) start with Offered or wanted depending on what you want. Sit back and wait for the emails.
I got 5 emails for the bike but gave it to the student who was starting Uni next week. Try it for yourself it is really easy to use.
PS I have just found there is an even more local group to me and signed up for that too.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Quick hello from me have had to spend the whole week working from home as my appointments got cancelled. Is out however Thursday to Friday. Got my hotel via Quidco as usual only £3.50 cashback but free money. Bought two books on Amazon yesterday as I have sold about 3 of mine in the last week. It is a Swedish author whom I read it Danish and now I think my Dh would enjoy it too. It is a triology and in Danish I am waiting for the last one to come into paperback. However the English version its only the 1st one that is out in paperback so bought that only £3.98 and splashed out £11.50 for the hardback copy of no 2. We will now both have to wait for number 3.
Still cooking from scratch and using my slow cooker. Nice to freeze batches of food ready to reheat when you can't be bothered to cook or DH is on his own. Made Quiche yesterday and had to much pastry left over I made an apple and blackberry pie. We pick our own apples and get the blackberrys from the golfcourse. Nice free pudding almost.
Contemplating going to the gym at 11am but my manager is calling me back as I could not hear her when she called from her car. Shame really so will have to go tonight instead.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Went to a 40th birthday do on Friday and had a really good time. It was our old neighbours and I am so crap at keeping in touch with them. Also nice to spend sometime with my current neighbours as they went too. So hung over on Saturday it was a total wipe out. Feeling a lot better today but not going to have a drink. Feel I really ought to know better and not drink so much.
Not done a lot this weekend to chilled out.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Your cloakroom looks absolutely gorgeous TG - I'm sure all the great work Mike has done will have added more value to your home than it cost. He really is a great worker - does he travel
Glad to hear your Ebayer came through with an offer for you. I used to use Ebay a lot to sell books and stuff (and also buy more books and stuff) but had a run of bad payers / duff purchases so rarely use it now.
Enjoy the rest of your chilled weekend xSave £12k in 2022 #54 reporting for duty0
