I read about your trouser problem - hope you don't mind an off the wall suggestion?
I lived in Holland for a year or so, and was able to buy tops and shoes easier than in the UK (I am short but not thin, stocky, rather an fat, and have wide feet - makes me sound like a troll)
In the Netherlands, everyone is tall, and sometimes quite sturdy and fit/sporty and the clothes reflected that. 6ft for the women is not unusual (I think you posted that you were 6'2''?)
I just wonder whether a mini break to Amsterdam might yield you some cheap trousers?
I used to get stuff in Vroom and Dreesman

Thanks Fredom Girl that is very useful information. I totally agree that on the continent they are taller so it is easier to get longer lengths. I used to buy stuff in Denmark but now I don't just use Next Extra Long (only in catalogue) or Long Tall Sally which is perfect for me. 36 inches is the best although can do 34inches.
Not planning any trips to Amsterdam but I have been there and it is a lovely city so maybe worth a return visit.
PS you dont sound like a troll by the way.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Little_Mama wrote: »Hi TG,
As far as I'm aware the Post Office will only be interested if it got damaged and it'd been sent to you Special Delivery.
We sold a vase on Ebay a few years ago, bubblewrapped it beyond belief and it still got broken. As we were just starting out we didn't want a negative so, on receipt of a picture of offending article, we gave a full refund including P&P as, I believe, it was our duty to get it to the buyer in the condition stated in the sale.
I hope your ebay seller will be understanding but I don't think she'll get any joy from the Post Office.
Good luck,
LM
Little Mama I totally agree with you I think she should refund me and then look into the Post Office claim. She did send it Special Delivery and paid £8.65 for the so called priviledge (only charged me £5) but she wrapped it so poorly I can't see them pay up.
Leaving it a bit longer to see what she comes back with it is afterall only £16 and I did get the foil cutter which costs about that new in Denmark.Save £12k in 25 No 49

As she sent it Special Delivery then she's probably got a good chance of a claim with RM but I still think she should refund you in the meantime as the deal was with her & RM to get it to you safely.
Have you asked on the ebay board on here? They may have some good ideas for you. They've always been very helpful when I've needed a bit of help.

Just a small rant about Ebay if you don't mind.
I bought some Danish Holmegaard items on Ebay on the 16th August. I only paid £11 plus £5 postage so it was quite cheap. All was listed as brand new so I thought they would make nice presents.
Here is a picture:
They finally arrived yesterday, recorded delivery and seller had paid £9 for postage. The bowl had been in the largest box so the seller had taken the other items out of their boxes and put them items inside with a bit of bubble wrap. Seller had then wrapped the bowls box in some brown paper but no extra wrapping on that. When it arrived it was clear it had been dropped and the bowl being so heavy that damaged everything else. The is bowl totally smashed and the candle holders full of chips. I think seller should have wrapped it properly. I have sent seller an email with pictures of the damage and asked for a partial refund. The foil cutter is fine even though it does not have its box.
I have not had a reply but surely I should get some money back. I know it can happen to anyone and it did to mee too once but I was able to send a replacement to the buyer.
However it took them 10 days to send it to me which I think is poor but surely they should have enclosed all of the boxes. It may even have saved some of the items.
What do you think? What is a fair refund?
'Lo.
I'm a fulltime seller on ebay, selling mainly glassware. The responsibility for the loss is the seller's. They should refund you now, in full. If they're a business seller, and they were sold on a Buy It Now listing rather than an auction, the Distance Selling Regulations come into force, and they cover you for ALL losses. The seller's responsibility is to get the item to you. How, or even if, they're claiming off a carrier or the RM is immaterial to you.
If they're a private seller, you could make a claim through paypal (if you paid that way).
I'd point out to them you're ready to leave feedback about the transaction, and receipt of your refund immediately will go a long way to the timbre of that feedback. I wouldn't mention negative, but you may already know you can no longer receive a negative from a seller.
BaffExclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0 -
Thanks Little Mama and Baffcat my Ebay seller only has 24 feedbacks so I assume is quite new to this. She already has one negaitve feedback so just trying not to get her back up. I will leave it one week and then take the action you suggested above. I can't see the post office refunding her as she packed it to badly. Stupid really if you ask me but hey we can all make mistakes.

Rigth feeling much better after a good nights sleep although we did have a few glasses of wine last night even went to the pub.
Helping my friend move this Saturday but not until 12 so will have time to chill Saturday too. Lots of work to do today and Mike wants to talk to me about tiling our loo. More expense but proably worth it.
Lots of offers in MB. Found a great one only to realise I don't yet have an account with them. Also earned some nice cashback with Laterooms booking a hotel for me and my work mate for next week.

Evening Dh is watching England with his dad downstairs so thought I would come and say hello. Been helping my friend move today, really hard work as it was raining all day. She has a horrid 2 room place more like a student bedsit but has now moved to a nice 2 bedroom house. She has no furniture until her friend moves in in 6 weeks but I got FIL to give her a bench and table set plus to garden chairs. At least it is a start and we have lent her a madras.
Suspose to play golf tomorrow but I am NOT playing in the rain. Really can't be asked. Will have to go up there for my tee time at 9.24 so fingers crossed it will be rained off.
Hope you are all OK and noone is flooded out.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Did not go and play golf today just could not face getting wet but as it happens it has stayed dry.
Got lots done intead. Bought home insurance for next year, £170 we paid £250 last year but did get cashback however I can't find the renewal but think it was higher than that. Did not go with cashback as this deal was better.
Also changed my gas and electric. I looked on the comparison sites and it suggested EBICo. We do not get any discount or cashback but I actualy heard someone from EnergyWatch talk about them last week so thought I would give it a go. I was with EON and they have just gone up to £86 a month think I was paying about £58. We shall see can't be asked to spend any more time on looking for a better deal.
Going to send my Ebay seller a gentle reminder that I would like a refund I have given her a week now so think that is plenty of notice.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Morning quick update as I have spent so much time this morning on Facebook. Signed up to the Danish version to see if I could locate some lost friends and I got two request now. One who was from the person I really wanted to find. Lovely so I had to update my profile as it was pretty sparse. Takes ages and I dont have to time as I am meeting up with my manager today and have meetings etc to prepare for.Save £12k in 25 No 49
