Just delurking to say I think you're doing brilliantly 😊
And so pleased your visit to York a few months ago. The Minster is pricey but often has a separate exhibition. A friend of mine is one of their tour guides (including of the stained glass).
Love the railway musem. Especially the huge Chinese locomotive and the Travelling Post Office carriage. You can lose yourself in the Castle Museum for the day and Clifford's Tower next door is a historic thought-provoking brief visit.

hello @Yorkie1 I loved York, would happily go again.
At the weekend I finally got to go and visit the specialist Asian supermarket which was fascinating. So many new things to research and try. I know where it is now so I can go on my own when it is quiet. I did buy some more paneer. @Greying_Pilgrim posted a link to another paneer recipe that I want to try.
I was away for a few days and came back to a meadow and an overwhelming number of weeds but also lots of things in flower. Amazing how much can change when the weather is right.
My busy run has started and I need to get back into 'work' personality in terms of meeting new people rather than my natural shy introvert. It's all good though, and I am looking forward to most of the things I have agreed to. It's good to push out of the comfort zone and try new things after all. Living rather than just existing is my aim and it is going very well indeed.

Really lovely to read such a positive post 🥰 I love Asian food and would be in seventh heaven in a specialist supermarket, my favourite aisle in a supermarket is the world food one. There’s an international supermarket next to the Lid! I pass on the way home from work and I can get lost in there for ages 😆
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪5 -
I need to put that Palak Paneer recipe in my index - it was definitely worth it. I'm not a regular purchaser of paneer, but would make that recipe again. I think (may be wrong), that it is the first time I have seen fried paneer in a recipe. Definitely made the recipe for me.
I love a world foods aisle/Asian supermarket. I think I would like a Turkish supermarket too, from things EH has posted, but sadly I don't have access to one.

I miss Tescos old world food aisle as they used to have recipes on how to use stuff. It's no good buying things you've no idea how to use if you don't have the other ingredients.

I'm very guilty of buying things from the world food aisle because it looks interesting & then having to figure out what to do with them! I'm currently in possession of 2 bubble tea kits and some dried tapioca pearls that were bought with good intentions last summer! They are shelf stable and well within date however.

Thank you everyone - things are usually positive here. I have think you can find a positive in most things if you want to and I have lots of things to be happy about.
Thoroughly enjoyed my first 'proper' mountain bike trail, cycling through clouds of butterflies was rather glorious.
I met lots of new people, and accidentally signed up for another June event including helping with the catering on the basis that you will always find me in the kitchen at parties. This weekend sees me at a big arena gig, a first for me. It is supposed to be a very entertaining show even if it isn't my type of music. I have downloaded the circus setlist so I can at least have heard the tracks a few times up front as I only recognised the titles of a few much to the amusement of the people I am going with. Then next week is a rail trip for a couple of nights further north, then straight to my friends for two more gigs back to back. It'll be interesting to see how this household copes with what will have been my longest absence.
Financial gains - I qualified for the NW £100, and I had a compensation cheque for £75 as compensation for incompetency from my energy provider. Still incompetent as I haven't had the promised written apology.
On the subject of trying to say 'Yes' more, I am still reserving the right to say 'No' to anything involving Abba. A girl has to have standards after all. Am I the only person who dislikes them?
I need to get on, need to pack and i have a list of things to sort before I leave. I did at least clean my tip of a car before other people get in it so I do not have to be embarrassed. Hope I still recognise it in the car park though!
