I love York. One of my friends has a relative who lives in the centre of York. The Shambles is amazing.

Belated happy birthday! We live in easy reach of York and one of our children lives and works there. The old city centre is lovely: the walls are surrounded by daffodils in spring and there's usually some street theatre of some sort going on. not to mention some nice eateries!

Thank you Cherryfudge, we did walk on the walls and got to see lots of spring colour as a result and was bought an excellent lunch in the G1ggling Squ1d. Beanie I liked the Shambles too.

Thanks PIP.
I frittered some birthday money on a rather lovely black suede DM rucksack from V1nted which will be perfect for overnight adventures.
I now have May and July things booked so November is the next month without something that pushes me out of my comfort zone I think. Both new things are reliving my 20s which is a very enjoyable recurring theme at the moment. There are a couple of plant fairs I want to go to as well, and need to check which (if any) my parents are going to.
Small car taxed at £20, MOT passed so now it is just the insurance renewal. Even that has dropped by a third.
Very windy here. Big crash from outside earlier made me jump, and worryingly it was a slate off one of the dormers. The lovely roofer is going to come and sort it FOC which is a relief as it was more than a year since it was re-roofed. Luckily I still have a couple of reclaimed tiles from when the fan got put in for the ensuite. There is also some damage to one of the trees which will be a ladder job to make it safe, can't tell if we can manage it ourselves until it stops raining though.
I did actually empty the boot of the small car by dropping off the charity shop mountain rather than just relocating it to my car so that was a win.
I did make a nut based carrot cake last weekend which was one of my better efforts so I have made sure I printed the recipe. Vague plan to do lemon drizzle tomorrow if I can dredge up the energy. Need to clean the house so maybe not. I must remember to ask someone else to vacuum as my shoulder is still being annoyingly dysfunctional.

Great that the car is all manageable costs, and the roof is being seen to FOC.
Well done dropping off the charity shop mountain, always so pleasing making space and knowing things are out there ready to live their best lives.
Hope the shoulder improves soon. Definitely get someone else to vacuum!

Ooh, I've not tried that - but I can see it's just round the corner from a favourite of mine (Br3w and Browni3). I'm looking forward to getting home from our holiday - it's most odd not seeing a single daffodil here. York walls are so handy for finding your way, as well. Once you are on the walls, you just keep walking till you find a recognisable place, which might even be where you started out. Glad you enjoyed it and have all these adventures to come. I love the thought of reliving your 20s. There's no reason not to, and every reason to give it a go (except in my case I'm a lot more confident and would therefore probably get more out of it).
