Another one who grew up with G&S - we had an excellent local company (The Chapel End Savoy playes) who used to put on productions regularly, and very good they were too - The Mikado and Pirates of Penzance being two favourites that I particularly recall - and Pinafore, of course!

Your lemon puddings sound delicious - although most things with lemon curd are aren't they! It occurs to me you could turn them into Gu pot dupes by means of adding some flattened crushed biscuits to the base and perhaps a spoon more curd on the top…in fact something similar to what I did for Christmas day pudding!

You know I love a bit of Leonard, if I didn't I'd have to rereturn my passport BUT it's KD Lang's version that brings tears to my eyes - the version she sang at the 2010 Olympics is the one the pulls on my heartstrings.

I saw KD Lang perform it live in Halifax NS a few years ago. It was an amazing experience.

I have to confess that I still haven't listened to Grace, was put off when it was described as 'sombre' which is not my current mood at all. I do struggle with things I feel I should do, and I think it is why book club would never work for me. I think I disliked every book I was forced to read at school on principle.

I did not make the lemon curd or the carrot cake, and have instead made this ancient g00d food recipe ginger fudge cake. Made it last night and will freeze half, and ice the other today, but having cut the edge off the dominant flavour is very much treacle. I may yet do the same with carrot cake later as I have all the ingredients and I did say I would make that as a thanks for helping.

Cold but gloriously sunny here, and the garden is shouting to me to come and play but I really must tidy myself and the house. It is useful having visitors as it encourages me to keep on top of the small things.

Quietly looking forward to tonight's adventure, haven't been to the cinema to see an adult film or out on a Saturday night in the city for many years.
