Thanks Beanie. Shall we sit together in the corner, fold our arms and cluck quietly to ourselves? 😉😂

Ha turns out I have seen that multiple times without ever knowing what it was...

Sorry but the D'Oyle Carte is the only way to go. I saw them all over a few years at the Manchester Opera House a very long time ago. My aunt was a big fan & I caught it.

My parents were big fans… when I was about 12 I went to a fancy dress party as YumYum (in a kimono with two cardboard lollipops bearing my name). None of the rest of the Youth Club knew what my costume was about! 😁
My husband isn't a fan, but he doesn't know what he's missing. 😊
Sorry to hijack your thread, @redofromstart !

Just parking this here as a reminder for me in case I don't get round to making a cake for Saturday:
Lemon puddings
Jar of lemon curd, tub of double cream, lemon zest. Whisk it all together till it holds its shape, into ramekins. I froze mine and had one last night, 30 minutes out of the freezer was all it needed. Simple but light and lemony with none of the metallic tastes that the condensed milk ones had. Probably be nicer still with HM lemon curd.
and the lemon curd recipe is here for anyone else who has bought cheap lemons this week

Thanks everybody, that made me laugh. I was brought up listening to/watching Gilbert & Sullivan - thanks Mum if you are reading - and would agree with you @badmemory as those are the productions she watched.
I like the Shrek version of Hallelujah which I think sums me up nicely. I must listen to JBs Grace album before Saturday though but am currently working my way through the NGs High Flying Birds back catalogue before my sp0tify subscription expires in a few weeks.
Not remotely cultured here, but I promised myself that I would try new things so I am.
I've lost a week now to my dodgy hands, infuriating. Some gentle pottering done today so not a complete loss, and I have the promise of some external help this weekend. The windows are finished apart from the paperwork. The internal damp patches seem to be drying out nicely which is a relief, less re-plastering than expected.
I have said I will make a proper icing topped carrot cake but it needs to be nut based rather than dried fruit. Any recipe recommendations please?
