Just wondering has anyone NOT payed for linen and entertainment passes?
What im wondering is, when i have gone to butlins before, no ones asked for entertainment passes so im wondering if maybe I could not pay for it but get it anyway? Same with linen? (though im sure youcan hire it there anyway)
i went to butlins last year but i can't remember what happened with the linen. as for passes - nobody asked to see them. they didn't issue actual passes, instead they charged people to come in for the day, and if you left the butlins site, to walk over to the beach for example, you had to get a pass so they would let you back in again.
so i don't see how you could not pay for passes really, because it's something you HAVE to pay for. i called last year to ask if the baby needed a pass (at haven you don't pay for passes for babies) and they said yes, i had to pay for every member in the party. it's £9 each for passes this year.'bad mothers club' member 13

If you only want one date but different parks it won't accept it.
put another two dates down, they will offer you something and if it's not what you want you just click the 'amend' button and go back. use two dates which you know will be sold out, such as july 18 and march 28.'bad mothers club' member 13

We have been there twice and the first year we had a brilliant time, great entertainment, great caravan and great weather.
The second time we went, which was only a year later, we didn't have a good holiday. Poor entertainment, horrible neighbours, dirty caravan and bad weather (although couldn't blame them for that!)
Having said that Perran Sands is in a great location and the accommodation really is luck of the draw isn't it? Newquay isn't too far away and it's fabulous there, actually there's loads to do off site around that area.

I looked at the site on the Sun website and it said only those over 15 had to pay for entertainment passes ... hope they dont charge me for the 2 little ones!0 -
Many thanks to all who posted the codewords - I managed to book this evening for the Easter hols (14th April) for Bideford Bay. Not my first choice, but close enough! So pleased to have managed to get the school holiday period so i don't have to take DS out of school. Thanks again.0

Gutted site went live this morning - I couldn't book til I came in from work
Managed to book for Easter hols at Pontins Brean - I've heard its not the best site in the world - can someone tell me otherwise PLEEEEEEEASE LOL. Anyway - can't complain for £38 I suppose - I just hope its clean
We've been to Pontins at Brean several times, both on the SUN cheapies and paying full price during school hols. The chalets are basic, and can look very 'tired' but definitely not dirty. During the school hols, all the kids activities are free and there are loads. During the off season, you have to pay extra for some of them, for example the go carts and quad bikes. The indoor pool is good, with flume, and they often have play hours with inflatables for the kids. There's a Jungle Jim's indoor adventure playground and a good outdoor playground. There are lots of open air sporty things for the kids - zip wire, climbing wall, abseiling, crows nest climb etc, all led by PGL instructors. The entertainments are non-stop and variable. Daytime ones for kids kept our grandchildren fascinated. Evening ones can be awful or good. Once had a fantastic magician, but also some of the worst singers I've ever seen! There are two night entertainment venues and during the high season they are boiling hot and heaving, with drinks prices to make your eyes water! All of the eating places in the camp are typical fast food stuff, and not cheap. There's a shop which sells everything and, as expected, is also not cheap, so take as much as you can. The beach is a ten minute walk away and peaceful by comparison.
The fact that we have been so often points to it being okay, but we are pretty easy going. Hope you all have a good time. :wave:0 -
