  • Has anyone else not received an email confirmation? I booked at 11am yesterday morning and printed off the confirmation screen and booking reference, but everyone else seems to have had an email. I've checked my Spam Folder, but nothing. Should I panic?!

I booked one at 9.30 and got my booking reference and booked another one at 10.30 with a different email address, I haven't had confirmation emails from either booking. Not in my spam folder either.

Thanks for the link Rachie, the reviews scared me a bit, I should have checked it out before I booked, still I will do as usual and take disinfectant, bleach and loads of wipes.
  • Hello all

I am booking via mail as it is my first time to book with sun. I am wondering if it would be best to put my parents address down as we move on feb 1st and I dont want the confirmation letter to get lost.

The other thing is am I right in thinking we can send the letter off tomorrow - I have 6 tokens now, plus tomorrows will be 7. Is it best to send them on recorded delivery??

Any other tips for sending them in the mail??

Just Keep Swimming, thank you so much, and I must say I know what you mean about charges for bouncy castle etc, my little grand-daughter wanted to go on everything at Rockley Park until she realised that it is not possible and she had to choose. (except if grand-dad was around, hes a pushover)!!!!!!!!!

I think all the Haven sites must be the same but we have had some great Sun hols at them.

    xx

Off to Warmwell this Easter, has anyone been?

We went to Warmwell on our first Sun Holiday when it was still a Haven. We loved it. You are a few miles inland from Weymouth, but its only a short drive.

The park is set amongst the trees with fishing lakes and even the basic Bronze wooden lodge that we stayed in was really nice and made a lovely change from a caravan.

There is a dry ski slope and an indoor roller rink on site, as well as the usual swimming pool etc so plenty to do, but the site still seems really peaceful and relaxing because of its lovely setting.

Monkey World (from the Sky Documentary) is nearby and there is plenty to do in Weymouth and the surrounding area. I will try and dig out some piccies and send you :-)

we went to warmwell booked this time last year in September is was great rather expensive in the club but the surroundings certainly made up for it although they say log cabins they are lookalikes, the only problems we had was we arrived late due to the traffic and when we got there our linen wasnt there, and one of the rooms (we had a 3 bedroomed) was unusable due to the really bad spell of smoke (cigarette) the house keepers came twice and couldnt rid the smell and agreed it was really bad, also the electrics were under the work surface and kept giving off blue flashes which we werent happy about this was late at night we didnt notice during the day, lucky one of our party was an electrician he turned this part off and we reported it on the Sunday and they sent an electrician to us within a few hours who said that the wiring needs badly updating and that moisture was probably the cause of it. The ski slope was great and free for a trial when we were there but it was a special weekend but normally it is quite expensive when we looked at the price list, the park is very spread out and if you are at the back of the park it can take you a good 20 mins to walk to the club house, shop swimming pool etc with lovely surroundings but not much fun if its raining or you have less able people in your party, or if you have had a drink and cant drive either. I would still go back in fact we were going to try and book this for the same time of year September but there were no dates available. I would advise to take your own food with you for cooking at the shop is very very expensive, we did go into Dorcester for breakfast - Weatherspoons and it was lovely Dorchester town is a lovely town to stroll round and shop and has a very lovely museums as well, Dorchester just lacks parking spaces. Warmwell itself has nothing at all except a few houses in the village. Poole isnt too far away and does a good night out at the dogs on a Saturday if you need any further info ask and I will see if I can remember

Last Easter we got Doniford as our choice of sun hol. It is OK and I always upgrade to a mid range caravan, which was clean and good size for four. Site seemed to have been updated and pool and club areas were OK. Yes I also looked at some reviews and they worried me a little, but it was not that bad when we went.
Off to Warmwell this Easter, has anyone been?

Thanks for info on Doniford, doesnt sound too bad, we will enjoy it anyway.

Never been to Warmwell but know Weymouth well as my husbands aunt lives on Portland.Thats worth a visit have a nice wander round the bill and go up the lighthouse then a nice crab sarnie at the cafe.Weymouth is a nice place and the beach is lovely for kids.If you do go pay a visit to Hope Square where the old brewery used to be,its over the bridge by the harbour, its all art/craft shops and bar/restaurant ,there is also The Time Walk which is supposed to be good, havent been inside that myself, also as someone has said Monkey world is not far and Bovington Tank Museum, just listen to me I sound like a guide book!!!!!!!!!
Anyway you will have a lovely time

re the linen: we have been doing sun hols for years and usually take duvet covers and sheets and pillowcases (and pillows for preference) with us; if you go by car its no hassle to cram them in. Haven't often found the linen in the caravan by accident, only once or twice I think. So don't assume it will be there if you dont pay the inflated charge. I would only get it if not travelling by car and unable to carry my own.
Re the entertainment passes: often needed to be shown to get in the swimming pool as well as the complex, so we have always forked out for these, including the kids.
Still mystified how to get holiday cheaper, whenever I have checked the site direct this year or previously its always about twice as much as the Sun, this year we are going for a mid week June break to Challaborough Bay in Devon so we can have a look at Agatha Christies location Burgh Island. Booked ok yest. afternoon after confusion in the morning.

    Hi

Im sure what you say is correct but we arnt staying in a caravan, we are staying in a butlins chalet ... the reason i thought there may be a chance is that whenever I have stayed in a caravan the linen has been left on the bed for us to make up ourselve .... but at butlins they bed are already made
Probably doesnt mean anything at all I just thought that there was a chance the maids make all the rooms up as they do there rounds, rather than someone just dumping a load of sheets in the caravans that are occupied?? Does that makes sense lol?!

Also at butlins I have NEVER shown a pass, the only pass I remember having was the one you have for your meals if half board?
Obviously if it has to be paid it has to be paid, ive included it in cost anyways, was just hoping to save a bit more money ;)
