Now i've got something booked I must admit I'm really looking forward to the break.

Page 3 of the priority brochure states the booking site opens on Thursday 10 January 2008 when the sixthcode word is printed. I can handle missing my dates due to high demand but missing them due to the apparent ineptitude of those running the promotion is entirely unacceptable. If you have been hit by this dont let it lie make them explain and justify themselves either by persoonal e-mail or if thats not good enough on national tv if enough of us escalate it to watchdog. These problems could have been avoided by people doing their job right in the first place.

I don't quite see what your problem is. The brochure stated the site would go live today and it did with the 6 code words printed in the paper so far. It didn't state a time it would go live so the fact it didn't fit with your work schedule is your problem not the Sun's!

You probably got an internal error because the site was overloaded with people all trying to do the same thing, this happens to pretty much every website whenever they have a big sale or promotion. The site was running very slow and occasionally threw up these internal errors, but you should have just persisted like eveyrone else and you would have managed to complete your booking.

The fact that there were no Yorkshire parks for the dats you wanted is probably because they chose not to take part in the most popular weeks, the brochure does state that not all parks will be available on all dates.

From reading this thread you will see that hundreds of people have got bargain holidays through this promotion so I don't think you will have much of a case if you went to Watchdog - people are getting exactly what is advertised so there is nothing for Watchdog to investigate!

Just booked a long weekend break at Haven, Mablethorpe. Wanted Skegness really but couldn't book them online so went for something near. Did Butlin's last year had the holiday from hell so wouldn't go back there! Already booked a week in Kessingland direct with Park Resorts tho as it worked out cheaper to do it that way than book with sun and then increase stay. Chuffed with my cheapy holidays! At least get to go away a couple of times a year this way!

I had an email from the Sun saying that the site was due to go live at 10am so to be honest I was only trying earlier as I had seen a lost of posts from people saying in previous years they had been able to book the night before.

OK I didn't get my first choice of accomodation but don't think I can complain of a holiday during School hols for £38. I think the Sun are doing a great job. I've had loads of these hols ever since they started - some years wouldn't have been able to afford a holiday if it wasn't for these tokens.

You'll be charged £10 for linen at Kessingland Beach - it's right next to the sea and windy as hell...so wrap up when you go. It's nearer to Lowestoft than to Southwold, by the way.

I have just got in from work and booked - not able to access the site from work and it wasn't working this morning before I left. Anyway - after a bit of jiggling we managed to get the park the children wanted. Didn't mind which of my dates I got - they were all school holiday ones, so I was convinced that after nearly 7 hours of booking they would all be gone (I am customer number 5870). Initially it kept coming up with my 2nd or 3rd choice park until I switched 2 of the park choices to catered holidays, then I magically got my first choice park for a Monday to Friday break in the spring holiday. Hopefully this tip might help somebody else.

I got my confirmation email within 3 minutes, but for those that are still waiting - check your junk mail folder!
