i got stopped many yrs ago in a transit van by a thames valley police motobike.
he was determined to do me for summat so he said i had a defective tyre.
i went to a tyre depot (5 minutes away) and changed it.
months later i got a summons. luckily i kept the tyre and took it to court.
i defended myself. when i asked the policeman what qualifications he had as a tyre technician, his answer was obviously, none.
i had 2 reports from very experienced tyre fitters to say the tyre was ok.
i won my case.
ps. as i left the Reading court, smiling, the magistrate called me back.
"would you like to take your tyre with you please"
funny as f00k.
Yeah right. nice story.0 -
The OP has been " pulled over " again since this original offence, I have to ask why?
I have never been pulled over by the police in years of safe driving.
If you have a look at the car you would know, its X reg Vectra that looks realy bad, my cousin used to let his employees use it therefor it has not been looked after. Im only driving the car as i told mine.
Can "Iamthesmartestmanalive" STOP F***ING POSTING COZ U KEEP SAYING IM UNINSURED!0 -
Cars are something to be looked after, and surely if your cousin owned the car letting other people drive it, it's still his/her responsibility to keep it in good condition and wash it etc. Apathy and ignorance doesn't keep a car in good condition, and costs more in the long run with buying new cars/repairs etc.
You might be better off looking for a pre-loved, rather than pre-used, banger under £1k and getting it insured for the year if there's going to be a good number of times you *need* a car throughout the year.
If you are getting temp insurance, the companies you were insured with should be able to confirm with the police whether you indeed were insured to drive at the time you happened to be driving, so if you were insured, you have nothing to worry about there.0 -

I bet if that policeman asked you, "what kind of qualifications do you have?" The answer would obviously be, none.0 -

Im going to ask Norwich Union tomorrow if they provided me with cover note thorugh the post, somthing with there hologram.
Im just concerned about what happen for failing to produce, which will hopefully be solved by my motoring lawyer sending a letter to the CPS.
I have been told my my laywer the CPS are unlikey to prosecute someone who is late on the day, unlike someone who is late by a few days or someone that dont show up at all.0 -
Why should the OP be "of an ethnic minority"
Bad and incompetent drivers can be of any race or religion, it has NOTHING to do with ethnic minority.0 -
Contrary to popular belief, police will stop a car that looks like its been neglected, ie dented, paintwork scratched etc, under the premise that if you dont even give a bit of care to its apperance are you giving the proper care to legal requirements such as tyres etc.
i think its a good idea for you to get a cheap runaround, insured in your own name (third party if you dont really care if it gets nicked or pranged) that way when pc plod looks up his database it shows as registered to you as well as your insurance details too.And yes the lady in the avatar is me

Im Asian, but that dont mean im guna be drivng around breaking the Law. You might want to know im an optician and not some kid that just been caught driving someone else car. I also do cover work at stores who need an optician for the day, which means i do alot of driving therefore
NO LICENCE = NO WORK = NO MONEY0 -
For crying out loud people, give the kid a break!
So, he never got round to producing his docs. Surely that only makes him lazy / disorganised / too busy to get round to it. A few years ago I got stopped in a scrappy borrowed works Citroen van (refered to as the biscuit tin - it WAS that bad). The info I gave the copper must have tallied with his PNC check as he gave me a producer on my docs and a vehicle rectification form for my tail light. If he thought I was lying (i.e. nicked the van) he'd probably have taken me down the station.
The insurance docs were at the office of the company that owned the van. I was insured, as I was contracting for them, but I never got around to asking them for the docs, collecting them and producing them at the staition.
Luckily the officer in question never chased me up and I heard nothing back.
Yes, I was as disorganised as our friend here, but I'm sure most of us have screwed something up (more than once probably) for no good reason other than we never got around to it.
Try giving him the benefit of the doubt. We all get it wrong sometimes.0 -
For someone whos been pulled regularly as the OP, you seem way too naive.
Police won't pull you for no good reason, so either your car was really bad or your driving skills were questionable or they checked thru their computer database and saw you had no insurance for the car you were driving, and perhaps you got a bit gobby with the officer and they decided to check the car out properly, maybe even pulling the racism card out, instead of being quiet and accepting the collar.
How would the OP feel if a member of his family was involved in an accident with an uninsured driver who drove off and themselves not being insured??And yes the lady in the avatar is me
