If you've got a decent NCB and are over 25, it won't cost much more than that to insure for a year!

If you look at the amount money Locum Opticians are getting paid, £11 wont feel like alot of money.

but you are asking for advice on a money saving webseite, and go around bragging that you pay £11 a day insurance and you can easily afford it, good for you, but that is not what this website is all about

I hope that you are banned from driving completely. As a cyclist, my life depends upon motorists keeping all the rules of the road, including maintaining their vehicles in a safe condition. Your attitude to road safety, and to all the rules around its enforcement, is intolerably casual. Do you not realise that lives depend on these matters?

I think a year or so getting around by bicycle, or even a little time doing community service in your local hospital's A and E department, would do you the world of good, and make us all a little bit safer.

On 26th December at around 10am I was stopped by police on my way to work. After looking at the car police decided to give me 3points on the spot for defects to the car. The defects where regarding the tyres and the breaks. From what I saw the officers only examined the car with a torch. My argument hear is that the police officer can not give me points by just looking at the car. To examine breaks the wheel would need to be removed, believe because my dad is mechanic who has working for over 30 years (Two more mechanics examined them and they said there working). Whereas for the tyres, the police did not have any kind of measuring equipment to check the actual tread on the tyres. The car also passed its M.O.T only 2 months. What got me angry was when the officer said to me “I wish I could give you more points”, can they even say stuff like this the public. As I use temporary cover insurance, I did not have a cover note with me. I was given a Producers form. A week later I went to the police station to produce my insurance documents, the officer behind the desk simply goes to me she wont accept it as it was past the time the ticket was given. She then said
I will be summoned to court for driving without insurance.

    What are my rights?
What do I do and what can I do?
Can I stop getting the points for the defects?
What happens when I get to court?

If it helps you, I have been given speed points in the past but they were cleared after 4 years. I currently have 3 points for red light offence.

    Thanks

The thing that worries me most about this is that no self respecting rep would be seen dead in an X reg Vectra
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

    Hi Spaceman

Just write what ever word you want to show as the link, like here then go and find whatever page you want it to refer to, when you have it, click the web address at the top of the page and the address should go blue, click with the right mouse and press copy. Go back to your post and highlight the word here and click the icon of the earth and a link, this will open a small screen with an address bar which shows http, right click and press paste, this will transfer the web address you highlighted and put this into your link, click ok and hopefully your link will work.
