  • Finally finished filling the hole around the boiler flue. It's only taken a few months. I got bored of filling it with rocks n mortar, I finished it tonight with scrim tape and polyfiller.
    Anyway, another OAT done.

  • I couldn't buy my premium bonds as I couldn't put my money into my bank, as the post office was closed. The chemist was also closed so I couldn't pick up a friends prescription.
I have requested shipping quotes for my relatives stuff, but it's not very straight forward as different companies require different info to give quotes - some just want the size of the current boxes, some want it packed in their own sized boxes, some want the weights of the boxes. I have one rough quote to pass on, but I think the other 3 companies will probably call me next week to go through it. I am already feeling irritated and I will feel more irritated if I have to repack everything into slightly smaller boxes. Of course I will grit my teeth and get through it, but still. Grrr. I would really like my living room back now. I dream of being able to close my curtains (slight exaggeration, my dreams are far more exciting).
I have managed to take 2 carrier bags of clothing to the charity bin.
I've just opened the wine to help soothe my irritation. Cheese will also help.

  • Intrigued about your dreams now! Enjoy the wine, I would be really frustrated to have to repack everything. Hopefully it won't come to that. I started reading your diary from the start and I've got to April, you are doing great back then, driving down your overdrafts like anything. I'm about to find out how villa your holiday went :)

  • While this is the mse forum, I think on this occasion @Rhyddid2026 it would be absolutely fine to go with the company that just wants the size of the current boxes, and save yourself the job of having multiple conversations and repacking.
Not doing your nut plus speeding up the process and getting your living space back is priceless!
Enjoy the very deserved wine and cheese 🥂

Hope you manage to get your PBs purchased before the end of the month Rhyddid2026, so they can go into the following month's draw (and win the million!)
