Congrats @Rhyddid2026!
I have emptied two very waterlogged pots, mixed the compost with perlite/vermiculite/grit and refilled them, planting them up with tulips and narcissi. I also shoved some more narcissi into a few other pots (not to the recommended depth, but they're in the ground).Β
Garden stuff is all off the doorstep and now in the garage by the door into the garden. It may make it to the shed/greenhouse at some point.Β

Thanks all. I nearly cried when I got to the tip and they told me they couldn't take small electricals for the foreseeable, but I'll find another way. I have celebrated with Baileys.DebtsΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 04/01/25Β Β Β Β Β 01/12/25Β Β

We have small appliance recycling bins here Rhyddid, could you look for something similar near you? Ours are at major supermarketsΒ2

Our local council will take small electricals if they're left out with the bins. They do batteries too which is useful - although you have to put them in a labelled bag or box. Hilariously they enforce this so religiously that on one occasion mum put out a transparent bag of batteries and they left it behind - she added a label saying "batteries" and they took it the following week!Β Baileys sounds like a perfect celebration!Β
The printed photos and canvas I ordered should arrive in the next couple of days so we'll be able to get cracking on hanging those at the weekend. I possibly need to change one frame for a different size, and also need to buy another small composite one for a set of black & white photos I've printed to go elsewhere in the house.Β
Ordered my repeat prescriptions yesterday and now have a link to book an HRT review so I'll need to get cracking on that before it becomes an OAT!Βπ MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 π And now we go againβ¦New mortgage taken 01/09/23 π‘

Our council used to take small electrical and batteries (and textiles) as long as they were put in a bag on top of the bin but the contract changed a couple of years ago and the new company will only collect general waste, recycling and garden waste (paid for). Β Everything else now has to go either to the tip or to SM recycling areas. Β Really annoying.3

We have small electrical/battery recycling with the bin collection, but it depends whether they have space. So sometimes you have to put things out several weeks in a row for it to be picked up.Β
Food waste is apparently starting sometime next year. Soft plastics have to go to supermarkets. Of course, it may all change when three (or is it four?) councils merge into one.Β2 -
We have weekly food waste collections. Β We can recycle everything except soft plastics. Β Where my sister lives everything has to be taken to a "recycling hub" about 15 minute walk away or to the tip. Β That would drive me mad!2
