Yesterday I realised that before I've even had a shower in the morning I've passed, thought about, and moaned at myself about around 12 little tasks that I 'should have done by now'. So that's what I'm doing today. No wonder I've been feeling so grumpy/heavy lately. I'm ignoring the usual house jobs to get those annoying little oats done. I'm going to repeatedly go back to sit on my bed and walk towards the shower until I've got a clear nag free route. I'll have a much better start to my mornings for a while hopefully!Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25

Good on you! My whole house feels like that 😬 you're absolutely right about the toll it takes mentally!Rhyddid2026 said:Yesterday I realised that before I've even had a shower in the morning I've passed, thought about, and moaned at myself about around 12 little tasks that I 'should have done by now'. Mine too @Cheery_Daff I think that's why I haven't done them, they're tiny in comparison everything in the house. I'm hoping if I can at least get to the shower and back though it will make a difference to my energy levels to tackle some of the rest. I've been astounded by the difference sorting my underwear drawers had on the the start to my day so I'm sure this will too. I'll have a kinder gentler start to the day and future me will be grateful.
The books on my bedside chair have been moved to the bookcase, and the watch put somewhere safer.
The bag of summer clothes outside my bedroom door have been taken up to the attic and I've brought a few lighter weight winter jumpers down.
The light in the over the stairs storage cupboard has had replacement batteries.
The boots on the top of the stairs have been put in the shoe bench.
Slowly draining kitchen sink has been bicarbed (I'm using the downstairs bathroom at the moment because I haven't got around to getting the ensuite shower fixed and it's been 6 weeks already).
Then I got side tracked by lunch and playing around with my debt figures and potential promotion salary but I am getting back to it now.
Update - past me bought extra battery powered lights and extra batteries so I now have motion sensor lights in the cupboard under the stairs, and my floordrobe which is the cupboard under the attic stairs in my bedroom.
Winter jumpers are in the wash.
The airer is out and the dehumidifier is on.
Duvet and pillow taken off the spare bed, waterproof cover put on and massive bedspread put on top (one of the dogs has taken to sitting on the bed to look out of the window so I want to protect it as much as possible)
Curtain hooks and pole fittings thrown out, bundle of old hangers by the door for the tip, and 5 random leads binned.
Did a second coat of green paint on the cupboards and shelves in the bathroom.
Broken drawer brought downstairs for either burning or tip.Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25

Well done @Rhyddid2026! That's what we're all here to solve.
I've got the electric blanket cover washed, but it didn't dry. However, the towels and flannels are washed and dried.
I also cleared two more veg beds and planted another variety of garlic, the rest of the shallots, and two more rows of onions. There are still onions and some garlic left, so an incentive to keep going with the clearing and tidying in the veg plot.5 -
Proud of you @Rhyddid2026
You're so right about those 'little' OATs grinding us down. This morning I finally put a bra in the recycling pile. I've been hanging on to it as it's pretty, and because I don't want to have less bras because it will hasten me needing to find new bras which I absolutely hate doing and will cost money, and because it would mean admitting that several others should probably also go.
I will build up to that when I have enough fortitude, but for now I'm pleased to have got a bra that was unsupportive and uncomfortable out of rotation!7 -
I'm starting the new week with a focused but paced approach to progressing tasks.
I did a freezer inventory - we have plenty of food to form the basis of meals and this should mean a low grocery spend month
chopped and prepped some slightly sad looking veggies ready for making soup tomorrow which will give us lunch for a couple of days
I booked a holiday cottage (this is certainly not an overdue or annoying task but I'm crossing it off my list anyway)
booked the cat in for his boosters
organised our granddaughter's birthday present
wrapped my first Christmas gift (going to do this as and when I buy the gifts as I dread the last minute wrapping frenzy
organised our calendar for November and December - it might change but at least we both know more or less when our busy times are

Paid the builders merchant bill - the last bill for the paving! (Phew 😊)
Booked my next blood test for a month’s time. Also asked if I could have my serum feretin (sp?) and B12 levels checked at the same time. Just so fed up of feeling so tired and fuzzy headed all the time … That request has led to a call being booked with the GP (who seems like a genuinely nice and engaged person 😊) in a week or so. Let’s see what he thinks.
Bought a snickers for Mr KK to set up a mouse trap for me for the overhead tap dancers that woke me at 4am last night … 🙄

That reminds me, I need to get my ferritin checked, I was supposed to do it last week but work was too busy. Mine is too high, but not high enough to warrant further referrals.
I hope the snickers works for you. Your trap must be massive!😜Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25

Paving and trellis paid for.
Landing almost clear ready for carpet to be lifted tomorrow morning.
A few bits taken out of the freezer for meals for the next few days.
Must go and pick up my blood test form and get yogurt and bananas for the dog's lick mats (and some fruit for me).3 -
Today I washed the posh frock I wore to Ladies Day in the summer.
Considering it was from Sheen it washed really well! Why did I put that off for 5 months?
ETA - that was so easy that I just put my graduation dress in the washing machine, it's been in the bottom of the washing basket for 16 months.Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25
