I have small veins too. When I went for my last blood test last week I mentioned this to the nurse and she was in a vile temper, as she had been for a blood test the day before and they hadn’t got any out of her, she just grabbed my arm (didn’t put a plastic strap on it or anything, stabbed, said oh it moved! and then stabbed again in the same arm! Flipping hurt and was a bit bloody, but it was certainly quick! 😂
I have resigned from the Parish council. This is something I have been wanting to do since May last year but for various reasons haven’t felt able to. There was an opportunity so I have jumped into it! The Chair completely understood as she w ants to resign too! 😂
Just got to the end of the year and I will be free of it! 😊

Congratulations on resigning!
Finally have another OAT ticked off. The skip has gone. Hurrah.
(Also personal OAT that I shared on my diary, bought clip in hair topper which has been something I have thought about for years now, and I love it).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7 -
My bank account was hacked the weekend before last and I haven’t received my new card yet so I had to call the bank. They reordered the card again. I called up the kennel to make sure my dog was booked in for all the days out we have planned up to Christmas. I put flea treatment on my dog too.
I had reflexology this morning and I have reiki this afternoon and I will drop off and pick up library books on the way.4 -
I had some issues with the library/borrowbox so I've got it on audible. I had a credit to use up.
The nurse got blood out of my hand on the 3rd attempt so I'm classing that as an OAT. I need to count anything I can this week!
That sounds horrendous @KajiKita !! (the nurse not the resignation) Well done on resigning and making steps to claim back some freedom.
There is a lovely male nurse who I have to go to for private bloods sometimes and he gets it first time every time. He once asked if I'd be up for letting his students on me so they could practice on someone tricky. Luckily he hasn't called me to actually do it.
Well done @Watty1, perfect way to have one thing out (skip) and one enjoyable thing in (topper). Although I'm sure the skip can be counted as hundreds of things really.
@Wednesday2000 your day sounds really well balanced too! A few chore type things and a few lovely type things. I've got acupuncture tomorrow and I can't wait.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Rang and chased re. faulty cat feeder. I'm a bit frustrated that I have to ring to get them to read my emails, but the customer service agents on the phone are lovely, and a replacement is on it's way. So Fatty will be in control of her own food again soon. Well, as much control as I'll let her have!5

Good stuff on the blood test rachmac - I always have the argument with the phlebotomist as I will only have blood taken from my hands - my arms don't like it - and they are always reluctant because most people apparently find hands really painful (except the real reason is that it takes longer as most of them have to revert to using the syringe, not the vacuum vials). Well I don't, I do however object to not being able to use an arm for several days afterwards!

Everyone is smashing it, very proud of us all.
I have sketched out kitchen layout for the builders to refer to, jumped straight on it rather than letting it become an OAT as I knew otherwise I'd be paralysed with indecision. It's such a small building that I feel like I could take forever worrying about the best possible positioning, but at the end of the day you make things work or work around them, no need to cause tasks to loom and be dreaded6 -

So long as you have the triangle of fridge, sink and cooker, even if a bit elongated for whatever reason, it will be fine 😊

Tried, really, honestly, I tried to claim some mileage today … For some reason the system only wants to pay me 12pm per mile! 😳🙄😂 So I have abandoned the attempt for now and sent a ticket into central HR …

I'm back in my own house, planning to rest all day, but also doing little bits here and there to make myself feel better.
I'm classing my decluttering as an ongoing OAT. I've thrown out some dried beans and lentils and accepted that's not who I currently am (or who I've been for the 3 years that they've sat in my pantry), and some more very out of date herbs and spices.
That's made space in my pantry so my remaining herbs and spices have moved there where I'll see them better. I don't go in my pantry often so I need to make it more obvious/enticing.
I've put a few things on Olio but if they haven't gone by Monday night they'll be going to the charity shop or tip Tuesday.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25
