Couple of creative OATs for me - got round to sewing a small gift for a friend that I've been meaning to do for weeks, and now I'm flat on the floor pinning out the blanket I finished last weekend. The edges are curling round on themselves, so I've pinned it to the carpet and will dampen it slightly and leave overnight to stretch a little. Fingers crossed.
Also bought some single sheets and a single duvet for the spare bed. We've only got one single sheet and it's not deep enough for the mattress so it keeps pinging off. And the single duvet will sit much better under my new blanket than the double one - which will have to live under the upstairs bed until it's needed.

Delurking 😀
Washed all the stuff that got manky at work including a pocket holster that will be repurposed for creative stuff. Probably shouldn't add to my tasks 🤦♂️
Quite proud of taking the empty toilet rolls to the recycling bin. For some reason this is a task I let pile up until there are three or four rolling around annoying me.3 -
I submitted my complaint to the ombudsman. I was still in two minds whether to or not, but had given myself bedtime tonight as a deadline to forget about it and move on if I hadn't submitted it. I didn't really have anything to lose by trying and it only took about 15mins to do. Just a bit annoying having to write it all out and go through those feelings again (short version - credit card was stopped while I was at the airport going on holiday to a country with closed currency, despite me calling the bank the day before to check it was all fine).Debts 04/01/25 01/10/25

I woke up this morning to hear what sounded like little pebbles falling down my (unused) chimney. I thought it was heavy rain at first. It happened about 30 times so I called the chimney sweep we used when we first moved here three years ago. I thought the strong winds we had might have dislodged something, but he said it was probably the wind moving the chimney lining, but it was nothing to worry about.
I had a sudden tidying urge late last night so I cleaned out and reorganised my hot drinks shelf and my condiments/spices shelf in the kitchen. I came downstairs this morning and it looks so much better. I can actually see what I have there and I just had a cup of lemon and ginger tea from the hot drinks shelf. I have matcha powder and golden milk powder that I haven't even used yet! I am going to try them both this week.
I have my friend's birthday meal in London tomorrow (he is 74 or 75) and I need to go out and buy him a gift. I did buy some chocolates (as that was all he said he wanted) but that doesn't seem enough as he bought us £30 of vouchers for xmas. I am going to buy him some beer he likes and then look in a charity shop for a fleece and maybe a jumper as he wears them a lot.
I just had a smoothie to use up some fruit and I'm going to batch cook pasta later as I have veggies that need using up.5 -
I made a doctors appointment to redo the blood test they messed up in May.
I'm house sitting all week so limited in what OATs I can do as I'm not at home.Debts 04/01/25 01/10/25
