Feeling somewhat better (although not completely) and have finally processed all of the pears and cooking apples - yay!! There are still some rather small cooking and eating apples on the trees, but I'm not going to bother with those - the wildlife can have them 😊 I've probably got one more pulling of rhubarb I can do from the plants, too, before leaving them to overwinter.
I have a pile to list on vinted, but think that may wait until next weekend now (I did however, buy a jumper and a pair of trousers from vinted today.....) Did sell a coffee machine on fbk mktplace yesterday, too - only for £10, but I was looking at it yesterday morning and thinking about donating it to the CS, so I'll take that as a win 😁I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -
Good progress @PennysIntoPounds and @greent 😊👏
I have started processing the last of the ripe tomatoes into pizza sauce. They are roasted they just need blitzing nosing, labelling and freezing 😊
Found a present for my impossible to buy for dad’s birthday today - phew! 😊

I am declaring October November December the season for shedding! I do not want to take all this crap into 2026 with me. I don't think I'll get it all done (the actual shed looks dark n scary so might get done in spring, and I'm somewhat reliant on my father's help for shifting his storage unit), but I can make a blooming big dent in it! Anything I get done will make the rest less overwhelming.
I have -
Dad's stuff in my living room, spare bedroom, attic/office, and storage unit. That needs sorting and selling or sending to him.
I have clothes etc for vinted and CS.
I have my old toys and magazines that at least need sorting, ideally selling some.
I also have a few boxes in the attic of 'stuff' I've moved from house to house.
I have newly accumulated 'stuff' in the cupboard under the stairs.
The cupboard over the stairs has unused Christmas presents I've been bought, and things I've bought for others then not seen for years.
Ok, I think that's most of it. I feel a bit sick writing it down but it's the first step to taking proper accountability.Debts 04/01/25 01/10/25

I suspect that you feel there is so much that you are overfacing yourself. Can you just select a small area & deal with that. I was getting nowhere because I kept saying all these places need dealing with & I wasn't dealing with any because it was so much. Not great but I am now 3 areas down.I was fine until my mother went into a care home & then her stuff was everywhere & I felt guilty for getting rid of stuff. My sister kept saying just get rid of it but I couldn't, but now I have to. Enough is enough.3

£10 in your pocket is definitely a win @greent!
Buying a birthday present, for a man, who is your father (and who is your father 😁) is the holy grail of achievements @KajiKita
Excellent determination @rachmac3. Could you nicely suggest to your dad that he pays for a storage facility as all this stuff is long term impacting on your life now?
These things definitely have to be done in stages @badmemory xhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

As for having to buy for a difficult to buy for father - my father's birthday was New Year's Day. After heaving a sigh of relief on NYD I used to start worrying about Christmas. When asked - I don't want anything. The daft thing is that I always felt that the thing he gave genuine thanks for was a cable jumper I knitted him. Fathers!!3

Dog kongs and lick mats done for the next week or so.
Freezer sorted. Dog walked twice. Cats pandered to endlessly.
Two venison carcasses prepped and frozen for pet food.
Billions of loads of washing done including mattress covers, pillow protectors, pillows and pet bedding. Must do the cleaning cloths overnight while there is cheap electricity again tonight.
Still have one blind to take down, and some stuff to tidy out of the way but I'm pretty much ready for the plumber.
Not at all ready for electricians as I still haven't made decisions on lights.

Well done on the present buying, @KajiKita!
@rachmac3 - sounds like you have a great bunch of stuff under the stairs for listing and with Xmas coming up hopefully you can shift a decent amount of it and turn your unwanted presents into someone else's presents 😁I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £203 -
Listed 2 items on Vinted and they got sold as a bundle so that will be easier to pack and post. £14 in the kitty and 2 no longer loved items leaving the premises.
filled in a form. Put form in envelope, put stamp on envelope. Put envelope in post box. Not sure why I procrastinated over this for so long.Submitted meter reading and adjusted direct debit up slightly.
and best of all booked a few days away at the end of the month.8
