Morning everyone xx
Aaaaah weeeeekeeeennnd. Annnnd relax.
I got wet through walking from the office to the car park when I left work yesterday. Absolutely tipped it down. We just embraced it. And laughed. Going home on a Friday evening....wet knickers won't dampen (groan) our spirits. Home, dry clothes, dry socks (very wet feet cause I was wearing sandals. Not keen on the wet feet in sandals feeling, but ahhhh the bliss of pulling socks onto cold feet 😊) Payday pizza ordered and enjoyed. And I decompressed after two very intense days working with the Macmillan Nurses.
Weird dream. Who knew that GBSB could cause a restless night. How the devil are you supposed to sew using a concrete lamp post? I made a big cushion - no concrete involved and was told I should have hardened the corners not padded them. With concrete rubble I suppose? I stood by my choice. And woke up annoyed 🤣🤣
I have peopling appointments arranged throughout the weekend, starting with J this afti. Hoping to get all the Saturdailies done this morning.
I've made my bed. And supped my first brew. Kettle's on - another brew anyone?

Coffee time. Waiting for first load to finish swishing. Then I'll set second load swishing, peg first load out, and WUDUPA.

I'm having yet another brew with you Round. Procrastinating as usual. Poppet has been walked, some dailies are done. Grass is still growing. Puzzles next. I can no longer do letter boxed unless I subscribe and as that's not MSE I won't be doing it.Spend less now, work less later.6

Hello all,
I had a cup of coffee with you, Round. Slurped it at the allotment in between digging the potatoes. They needed to come up, but it was hard work, despite the few showers we have had. Last of the plums
Picked, I couldn’t face the thought of more beans staring at me disappointedly from the fridge so I left them on the plant for another day. Maybe tomorrow.
DD is driving back across the width of the country, so I won’t relax until she is safely home.
Ah yes, YL. The cd conundrum. Our vast collection (mostly DH’s) is in boxes as we haven’t yet agreed on shelf storage for them. Plus the LR will need completely emptying for replastering at some point, so no point in the cds showing their faces yet. No way will he agree to get rid of them, even though I can’t remember the last time he played them. But then we still have a cassette collection that he won’t part with either…and don’t even start on the vinyl collection.5 -
I'm wondering what to do with all the dvds.Back grass is cut, even the edges.Spend less now, work less later.5

I had forgotten about the stacks of dvds as they are hidden in a cupboard. Obviously they are not for decluttering either. Can you hear the sound of my head hitting a brick wall..5

Afternoon all. I don't want to leave tons of stuff for my children to get rid of when I'm dead but cannot get my DH to get rid of anything. I've done most of what's mine but I didn't have the lion's share of stuff in the first place.Pouring with rain now. I was looking after my granddog today and luckily I walked him this morning while it was dry. This afternoon we read the paper (me) and slept (him) x5

Afternoon all. Just popping in to say hello. This morning I popped to the shops for a couple of things. I accompanied A on his stair walk, put away a Waitrose delivery and then made lunch and washed up. A went for a nap so this gave me an opportunity to do a top-up clean in the bathroom (|basin, lav, mirrors and floor), I then did the same in the kitchen as well as bleaching the sink and washing-up pad. I'm just waiting for the floors to dry to put things back.On Wednesday we had one of A's second cousins over for lunch (she is Australian but has lived in Chicago for the last 25 years and I've not met her before even though I've known A for 33 years. Even A knows her only slightly, not having seen her for 40 years). She was lovely and we had a very happy afternoon chatting and catching up on several decades!Tomorrow, A's cousin who lives in Welwyn is coming for lunch with her husband. These days I try do do things that are (hopefully!) very nice but not too faffy or time-consuming so I'm making stuffed jumbo pasta shells with a tomato-based sauce and cooked in the oven, followed by Mary Berry's Apricot pudding. I haven't made that before but it sounds very nice. Although it looks pretty staightforward I've been caught out before with things that look straightforward but for some reason don't turn out well, Just in case, I've bought a Waitrose cherry and almond tart as a stand-by. I'm on a diet so I shall give it to them to take home if we don't use it.CDs. I used to have lot of them, stored in free-standing racks. What dust gatherers they were! Several years ago I 'ripped' to my computer those I was particulary keen on and took them and the others to a charity shop. Whether charity shops would want them these days I don't know. I also have a small vinyl collection but these are from my teenage years and early 20s and although I gave quite a few away several years ago I can't bear to part with the rest, although I've no way of playing them now. They are in a cupboard and not taking up much room so it's a problem for the future (with for me or someone else).5

Tada! Front grass is also cut. My lovely neighbour across the road strimmed all the edges for me. Football to watch soon once I've sorted Poppets tea.Spend less now, work less later.6

The trouble with decluttering is that I have got rid of sooo much 'stuff' over the last few years. I still have too much stuff - albeit stuff that I like and want to have around me. There are also many (and I mean many) things I decluttered that I really, really regret now. I frequently find myself looking for things that are no longer here.
