Morning all,
Round, we could do a deal as part of the September challenge - I’ll hack your garden (Bert can be my helper if he likes) and you clear out some boxes for me. Doubtless we would both be more ruthless that way. Share and share alike 😊.
Flying stuff has happened here. Bathrooms cleaned, including getting rid of the water ring in the shower tray. Took 5 minutes with some elbow grease, so why did I think it was impossible. Houseplants watered and scissors taken to some stragglers. No mercy here. One load of washing done and now ironing dry thanks to the wind and intermittent sun. This afternoon I will tackle the ironing pile as DD will need the space to start getting stuff ready for her travels next week (anxious does not begin to sum up how I feel, but so far hiding it well. I think). I also need to tackle the greenhouse jungle to pick tomatoes, chillis and basil. Amazing what I can do when the other option is to start looking for car insurance quotes.6 -
ooh ooh ooh I love sorting through other peoples stuff. It’s much easier to be ruthless though, tbf, I can be pretty ruthless now Ihave my “possessions are a burden” mindset.
Today i have dealt with plums. 4lb of them got jammed (127 plums, 127 stones fished out) and some cooked for crumbles. Will stone remove at a later date.
WUALTD including sticky hob racks. DW and WM locked and loaded.
Tomorrows list is entirely self indulgent. My mates are coming round and my house is a tip. It’s an “out with the old” celebration…before my DR gets decorated and every room in Villa Valli needs some lurve and the sticky kitchen floor needs a mop.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all xx
PJ's gardener has agreed to take on my garden and is calling on Monday morning to see what I'd like doing. That's one thing less to think about.
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, packed my lunch bag, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in three, as for Connections 🤔... no lives lost because I don't know where to start, looks like 16 random words to me!, eaten breakfast, sorted Joey's seed and water, and I'm supping a brew.
Yesterday afternoon at the paid stuff was mental. Made the time fly by but I wanted to lie down in a dark room when I came home. The Duty Nurse must have felt the same as she cancelled her date night! Hope today is a little gentler.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off.
Have a good day.

Afternoon all. Mixed weather here, sunshine and showers but so far the showers aren't as heavy as the last two days. That's jinxed it!Not enough washing for a load today. We went for a walk earlier. I made some blueberry muffins which are actually fairy cake size because that's the only tins I've got. Low sugar and GF flour, olive oil and yogurt. Tasted better than I expected. You can tell there's less sugar because you don't get that really sweet hit but there's enough to take the tartness out of the blueberries. I've frozen half because it made 30 (supposed to be 10-14 muffins). Not much else going on but there's only us two here so it's only right that it doesn't get that messy4

Afternoon all,
I caught up this morning and then forgot to post. Sunshine and short showers here too. Just enough to make me think that going to the allotment to dig potatoes might not be a good idea. I have been waiting to be able to get the fork in the ground, so maybe tomorrow morning.
This morning I finally touched up the wall paint in the downstairs toilet, but I haven’t done the woodwork yet. DH still has “something” to do on that, so I’m not starting unless I can finish. One load of washing done, drying indoors. One bucket of weeds collected for the green bin. There is plenty kore so I might collect another in between any showers. We have a small amount of water in the water butts for the first time in weeks, yippee!
I am currently trying my hand at bottling fruit. The freezer is at bursting point so if I could bottle in future, that would be a great help. Starting small - not least because I only have one jar left.
DH is hogging the laptop, so the car insurance quotes / renewal will have to wait….whistles nonchalently…5 -
- Did a pretty good kitchen flying this morning including sweeping and mopping the floor as well as tidying, wiping surfaces and appliances etc.
- Stoned 3 more bags of plums; that's the lot for the moment I think.
- did some drumming practice
- went to zumba
- went to Mr T to get a few things including some nice toiletries for Mum's birthday; not a very exciting present, toiletries and chocolates, but there just isn't anything she needs or wants. Brief monsoon occurred as I walked from the shop to the car! Had a bit more rain today thankfully.
- did a small amount of cleaning in the en suite.
- sorted out a few IT admin jobs
Tomorrow I'll probably do a lake swim in the morning, get the paper then come home to prepare for setting off to Mum's via the usual overnight stop at DB. Only 2 days to pack for and it's usually the same stuff! Aiming to leave early afternoon.
Have a nice weekend everyone.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Morning all
Awake stupidly early. Funny day yesterday, had an afternoon with DB and DSIL who I don't get to see very often. They had clearly been arguing before we met up and it all felt a bit tense and strange, I was disappointed because I was looking forward to seeing them both.
I was supposed to be hiking today but fire has devastated our beautiful moorland and that's where we had planned to walk. Instead I am picking DS2 up from the station and having a walk around a local market with him before a family party tonight.
Flying wise the house isn't too bad, but that's no excuse to not make an effort. There is definitely laundry to do. At some point this weekend I want to make a list of things to include in my September decluttering. Wonder if I can persuade DH to get rid of some clothes that he doesn't wear? And what do we do with all the CDs in the unit in the LR that we never play?
Have a good Saturday all x6 -
Morning all. Wordle in four, really annoyed I didn't get it in two.
Today it's the usual dailies and dog walk. As we haven't had rain for a couple of days now I'm going to cut the grass. Also need to pop out this afternoon.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6
