As @sheramber confirms, they are indeed a UK company.WhyCompaniesWhy said:...after weeks of back-and-forth (40+ emails), they refused a full refund unless I paid to return both sets abroad, despite presenting themselves as a UK company.
However their T&Cs say:
Returns must be sent using DHL express only to our warehouse in Lampedusa, Italy.
The above is an agreed contract term.
That shouldn't be a surprise since their website makes much of their claim that their products are designed and manufactured in Italy.Remember that s20(7)&(8) of the Consumer Rights Act says that the consumer has a duty to make the goods available for collection by the trader or (if there is an agreement for the consumer to return rejected goods) to return them as agreed, but the trader must bear any reasonable costs of returning them.
So you have to return them by DHL to that little island in the middle of the Mediterranean, but Whipmats must refund you the cost of doing so.0 -
Cheap rubbish and a complete con. The mats fit only where they touch and fail to stay in place anywhere in the vehicle. Their composition is nowhere near as claimed. In total breach of trades description and the video is a lie. The product is not fit for purpose. Class action is surely warranted.0

But should that "agreed" contract term be properly treated as an "unfair" contract term?Alderbank said:

I don't know the answer to that question, but it seems at least arguable to me that it's unreasonable for a UK company to expect a UK customer to send returns to an address outside the UK, no matter what the seller's ludicrous T&Cs say.0
