Hence my question about what you're actually complaining about, given the bolded wording above as well as your post further up the page!Pinehead said:
Its not the reviews I believe its the ability to to scam people and the Government wont do anything about iteskbanker said:
If you believe all you read on review sites like Trustpilot then you should prepare for plenty more disappointment in life....Pinehead said:I have been wondering who are the people who are giving WHIPMATS positive feed backs, I googled 4 and all of them are Dirctors on the Gov Website who have been stuck off, This looks like there is some sort of scam going on with the reviews and trustpilot dont care
If you're concerned about Trustpilot reviews being falsified then present your evidence to Trustpilot, but if your issue is with the actual operating practices of the merchant then you need to take a different tack, via Trading Standards or the like....0 -
Did a reverse search of the wharehouse in the uk, it's actually a wharehouse in chesterfield Derbyshire ,appears just to have been edited with the whipmats logo, please stay clear0

I was able to gain a charge-back from my bank, due to the mats, being creased from folding when packed rather than rolled up, poor quality fit and the fact that the extra front mats I ordered bore no resemblance to the ones pictured on their website. The ones on their website were a vibrant blue colour and appeared to be traditional carpet material, the ones I received were a dull, scratchy plast material, sparsely woven and really cheap poor quality. The company is now attempting to get me to pay them again, they flatly refused a refund or return and are saying they may escalate to their "collections team" if I do not repay the amount within 72 hours! I would have no worries about defending my case in a UK small claims court as I have full photographic evidence to back up my case.0

Anyone else being pursued for payment? I see others have also been successful in gaining a charge-back from their bank.0

I had exactly the same experience with this company and would highly recommend avoiding them.
I was bombarded with adverts showing "too good to be true" quality fitted mats specific for my car that looked amazing for the price. I was pretty convinced it was a con but figured I'd order the front mats for £70 and worst case was that I lost that money.
The adverts show a British warehouse and they keep on saying proudly British but it didn't look quite right.
The delivery took about 2-3 weeks. I was shocked to find a package about the size of a couple of folded jumpers and when I opened them I immediately saw bad stitching and frayed edges.
In the package was instructions encouraging leaving the mats standing for a week or more to let the creases come out but stressed they may never come out. This was the first major red flag. It was almost like they wanted me to go past my cooling off period before actually fitting.
I decided to test fit and it was awful. These DO NOT line up with the footwells of my car. There were huge gaps so I instantly emailed them and requested a return/refund since there was literally nothing that would make them actually fit.
When they replied they basically just said to leave them in the car (as if they'd magically grow). They ignored the part about requesting return and refund. After a few back and forths it became clear this was literally just copy/paste messages that were designed to make me lose interest but I didn't. I opened a case with my bank and kept on emailing calling them out on their actions.Eventually there "CEO" Alfie Jones (no doubt a fake scammer name. Contacted me and claimed there was no way I could have a refund because this was custom made. Something I don't believe to be true since it was chosen from make/model options on the website and no image upload or personal request was made. Each email took a day to come through. First he "generously" offered 10% refund. I refused. Next day 20% and the next 30%. I told him to stop emailing me unless it was a full refund and that all emails had been forwarded to my bank. This morning I got a notification that they've fully refunded me for the mats. I have had no email yet or instruction on returning the mats. Which of course I will not be paying for postage!

These are just a couple of the emails but as you can see he claims they are a small British company. So yeah, DO NOT buy from this company unless you're happy with substandard quality mats that likely won't fit your car and will have a huge crease down the middle.0 -
Their website is an Interesting read
The team

And their returns policy - clearly trying to hide behind the "can't return it because its personalised" excuse, even though they are simply designed based on the car.

They do seem to claim each set of mats is made to order; is there any evidence that is the case?0 -
Please note that the original query was back in August so they may be out of time now for some of the later options being suggested. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I just wanted to add my own recent experience, as I wish I’d seen this thread before ordering.
I ordered car mats from WhipMats (£53.96), advertised as bespoke for my car. When they arrived, they didn’t fit at all. I contacted them immediately to ask for a refund, but instead they sent a replacement set — which also didn’t fit.
After weeks of back-and-forth (40+ emails), they refused a full refund unless I paid to return both sets abroad, despite presenting themselves as a UK company. Partial refunds were repeatedly offered instead.
I eventually raised a credit card dispute because the goods weren’t usable. The company then issued a full refund — but since then, they have continued to email me demanding repayment, adding extra “fees”, and threatening debt recovery if I don’t pay.
I’ve kept all correspondence, informed my card provider, and reported the behaviour to Citizens Advice / Trading Standards. I’m sharing this purely as a warning to others, as the situation didn’t end when the refund was issued and became very stressful over a small purchase.

This is the way that the card chargeback process works - it entails the customer's bank recovering funds from the retailer via its bank unless the retailer challenges this. However, if the retailer doesn't challenge during the process, they can still seek to recover the debt afterwards, as (from their perspective) you have both the money and the goods. In other words, the company didn't 'issue a full refund' as such, they just didn't dispute the return of the money when given the opportunity.WhyCompaniesWhy said:I just wanted to add my own recent experience, as I wish I’d seen this thread before ordering.I ordered car mats from WhipMats (£53.96), advertised as bespoke for my car. It'll be interesting to see if they do actually take you to court, but imagine you'll be confident if they do....1 -
They are a UK ltd company registered at Companies House.WhyCompaniesWhy said:I just wanted to add my own recent experience, as I wish I’d seen this thread before ordering.I ordered car mats from WhipMats (£53.96), advertised as bespoke for my car.
