    How are you measuring quality?

Edit: the fact that the director is from the Philippines doesn't contradict it being a UK company, and many addresses have multiple companies registered at them as it's common practice to do so, e.g. sharing accountants, etc, rather than being inherently suspicious.

A company is legally based where it's registered not where its directors are domiciled so on the first point it is a UK company even if its sole director lives in the Philippines. Plenty of firms, including my own, uses accountants or forwarding services addresses as their registered office so having hundreds of companies registered at the same address isnt uncommon.

The fact they 6-10 days postage should be an immediate red flag about where they are being posted from. I frequently order from Italy and 2-3 days is the standard non-express reality. Even from India is quicker than that. The other one to check is the legal jurisdiction in the terms, most scam sites will say UK. Most genuine sites that actually are UK based will know the UK isnt a legal jurisdiction and so will say either England or England & Wales - though a few small businesses make the same mistake as the scammers.

How much are you down? How did you pay?  At the end of the day the company will have no UK assets so you may just have to take it as a life lesson. In principle you can do a chargeback but you would normally need evidence of a successful return and posting them to China will be expensive and often the goods tracking will stop/never show them as delivered.

To be fair, if this company wants to be a typical Chinese drop-shipper, they ought to take more care about what they promise on their website!
Although we are based in London, our products are produced and shipped from our warehouse in Italy. This is due to the fact that high-quality leather and other essential raw materials for our car mats are sourced from there. As such, we ensure that your order is manufactured in Italy, where our skilled team handles every detail of the production process, before it is shipped directly to you from our Italian warehouse.

Quality is the hardest thing to prove, as it is very subjective.

Can you prove they are made in China?

As we say in our dept. Products made in China. Fall in 2 criteria. Front door & back door.

It's registered in the UK, so can therefore correctly be referred to as a UK company, and if you wish to pursue them via the UK courts, you're free to do so....

Returning to your question in the thread title - yes, you can make a section 75 claim from your credit card provider, if it's a single item (such as a set of mats) priced at over £100.  You'll need to evidence a breach of contract or legal misrepresentation.

The company appears to be registered in UK, so nothing to object to there.
Where the owner lives is irrelevant.
How do you know the leather comes from China?
How much leather is expected in a car mat?

The prominent picture of the constituents on the website clearly shows two foam layers with a synthetic leather outer one:

although there are also references to "premium Italian leather" elsewhere, which aren't likely to withstand much scrutiny from Trading Standards....

I'd maybe do that if I knew what you meant.
