OH gave me some cash back yesterday for stuff I spent. £20.55 more than he owed so I just paid the pot. £48.12 to find. Posting on here made me think of it. Thanks everyone!

gosh - that was a heck of a tough week. So pleased your dad came through that trauma - he must be made of tough stuff.

Absolutely agree that a sandwich and a hot drink in the midst of all the hospital worry is money worth spending.

I really hope that your OH's interview goes well. Remind him that by this stage in the recruitment process they want to hire someone as much as he wants to be hired. Only positive answers are needed as it's his chance to shine.

We've apparently had a good second viewing on the house and OH's interview is now going ahead on Wednesday. He seems fairly relaxed about it at this stage. The council have confirmed our council tax benefit has been approved so at least that's a huge help if no offers come through. My father must be feeling better as he is moaning today. I think he may be coming out next week rather than this week now.

I have saved some money today by doing the journey on the train. Railcard saving too.

I am hoping to get a walk in tomorrow and then more hospital visiting on Wednesday.

I am having a day off hospital visits today. We are going to go for a walk

At one point when OH was still working I was keeping my sales separate from our sales but realised it was feeling somewhat pointless. I decided to add this tiny pot of £44.34 to the holiday pot so my new pot total is £240.07 with £8.32 in pending surveys. Ticket of £119 repaid. Yay! Only £1.78 to get to my original target

Skip the next part - self pity whine follows

I am struggling with anxiety and very low mood. Little sis is still weak and didn't need this just after she came home. She expects me to take care of the her snd fix that she is lonely but I haven't got it in me any more. I hope my father can regain his mobility, it's all pretty stressful in wanna be free world. I feel a bit hard done to over the last 4 years. I guess life was good before my mother died so suddenly so I used it all up then.

I have used my card and spent a lot at the hospital this week. I feel guilty about the spending. I should keep track and if OH and I don't have any income perhaps my father can pick this up for us when he is better. I have been financially independent since I left university and started working. My sister has had so much help and effectively the house she lives in has incorporated any inheritance I would get. My mother wanted to treat us equally but never could from how my sister got fired all the time and needed bailing out. I also feel full of anger about the state pension age rising. Now I am 58 I realise how much ageism there is and how much else life throws at us as we get older.

If OH gets this contact it will be a weight off. His parents both died young so he planned to stop at 60 but the way we've dealt with things after my mother died cost us too much. Plus the earnings I lost feeling low and not coping with thedeath of my mother and trying to help Little Sis and father.

The rights and wrongs of this feel all tangled and I have a lot of resentment and regrets today.

oh wannabe - I really feel for you.
on a practical note, yes I think you should use some of your dad's money to cover your extra hospital visits. He benefits from your visits and at the moment you just don't have income to cover these unexpected costs.

From what I know from your thread I think your sister needs ongoing professional help and support and it's not possible for you to give her that. You, alone can't fix her loneliness - sounds harsh but it's the way it seems to me.

My mum died 4 years ago too and losing a mum is just so hard.

I hope your OH's interview is successful and that your house viewings turn into an acceptable offer.

OH got offered the contract for 3 months assuming checks are all ok and my father is slowly improving. Little Sis and I are off to her GP this afternoon.

My spends for the last week aren't in YNAB yet. The holiday pot made my target of £250 and is sitting at £252.78.

I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom yesterday and then we both had baths and a lazy afternoon at home. I am hoping we are ready for any house viewings next week. Went live last week but all quiet before the weekend.

    Hospital/family day for me today.

Im so pleased on the contract news.

I.wish there waa more help out there for your little sis. I cant imagine hkw hard it is. I just keep an eye on my father and hes practically independent (i shop and cook a couple of meals a week) and i find that exhausting. Many sympathies.

OH starts working on Monday after more than a 3 month gap. One house viewing, lots of hospital visiting, off there again today.

Money disastrous. A combination of relief over contract, OH wanting me to buy some things and not taking food and drink to the hospital. Plus buying chocolate on the train platform. Result is weight gain and an empty bank account. Errrgh. Today I will take food and snacks and aim for an NSD. I need lots of those in May.

I hope my father is well enough to leave hospital next week. They plan to tranfer him to a rehab centre. Little Sis is struggling. I hoped she would take some days to rest and recuperate when I visit the hospital but she isn't. She is unable to sleep and not good enough to drive again. I tried to get her to call the mental health crisis team last Thursday. I am going with her to the GP on Monday. I had a call from my cousin to tell me she's worried and getting lots of odd phone calls from Little Sis. My uncle too. I am stressed, embarrassed and yuk about her behaviour involving distant family. She has nobody in her life apart from her father and me. Plus toleration from OH as she's my relative.

I should be happy re contract etc but I am feeling low. OH will be tired and out in the office 4 days a week so I need to step up on housework, laundry, ironing, dinner. We used to share these things but he's done more than his share while my family have been so tough for me to deal with.
