Monmouth slow ? I wouldn't hear of it...
Applied 25th July online.....today is 11th August = 17 days and still don't have an account opened. Luckily I'm in no rush but I'd be happy if it can be done this year!
    UPDATE:
It's now been 19 days and still don't have an account opened.

Phone them. It's quite possible the letter's lost in the post. They may be able to give you the a/c number over the phone, which would at least let you fund it.

Applied online 25/07/2025, Letters arrived yesterday dated 31/07, 04/08 and 05/08 .... I have a strong feeling that it's not Monmouthshire being slow (well maybe a little), but there is another culprit involved here. The last time I had any snail mail delivered was 04/08, yet I see those little red vans virtually every day in our road! Lord help those waiting for news of medical appointments etc!

p.s I did get my signatory letter on the 04/08, but that could only emphasis my point rather than detract from it!

I've had six letters in the post today from various sources dated 2 4 5 8 August Including full maturity details of my existing RS (27/8). I've got the new version working and awaiting my second deposit (the first was sent back) to be credited. Nothing about the new Virgin account!

I was told that they don't give the account number out over the phone, but can (and did for me) give it in response to a secure message (which allowed me to make the first and second deposits on the 31st and 1st).
The paperwork, supposedly posted on the 16th, still hasn't arrived...

After getting a secure message telling me that I was now able to fund the account (it shows on the home page) I've had two £100 FPs returned to my bank.

Does anyone know how to close the new RS account via the app or email etc? Looked on their website and can't find any information. I have had enough of the app constantly freezing when logging on & being down for maintenance all through the day on & off. Not worth the hassle!
Why do you need to "constantly" use the app for an account if this sort? Why not let the account run until the term is up (or it becomes uncompetitive)?

    Not criticism, just curious.

Online access via browser is available too.
I was checking the account as my money wasn't showing as being paid in and as the app is so flakey I needed to be reassured my money wasn't lost in the ether. As the app was constantly freezing I was unable to do this. It's a RS account so money will be added monthly.
its not a fixed rate add the money and forget about it until maturity account.

They will be inundated with applications, as the rate matches an available Loyalty Product elsewhere, with more favourable terms (including that it is open to everyone.)
Yes exactly. Though have to mention that those resident in Northern Ireland aren't eligible but nearly everyone
    Shouldn't belief everything you read
Just checking what you mean by that. From the Monmouthshire page it states Northern Ireland residents are excluded.

Not all NI residents are excluded
I’ve tried twice before and most recently, got rejected for not being a UK resident. In which case, I’d like His Majesty’s government to refund my taxes please. 🙂

I thought I'd "give it a whirl" in the hope that by now they might have sorted out at least some of the problems with the app - or rather the back office processes supporting it.
So I downloaded the app and applied for a Regular Saver as a new user......
    No is the answer.
Got the "unable to verify your NBA bank details" message and there it stops. This is for a Lloyds Bank current account opened for at least a decade.
So as instructed I contacted them: I used the secure contact page on the website and I will see what happens next. Presumbly it will be some request requiring me to submit my ID /bank statement details.

Forgive my ignorance but who is NBA bank and do they have a similar sort code to Lloyds? I'm almost suspecting a typo as the source of the problem?  :)
