Like millions of others I applied via my computer for their new regular saver a/c yesterday. Today they told me it would be faster if I downloaded their app and applied that way. I've been stuck on a page saying they're "currently processing your application" for 6 minutes now and presume it will be a long long time before anything happens. So that's not much good either.
What has your experience been?
Has anyone managed to open an account in the last week with them?
As of this morning (31 July), having reinstalled the app and still having the end result of going round in circles for 11 minutes I am uninstalling app and assuming I just won't be able to get this account. What a monumental waste of time

Yeah not surprising this has happened to be honest. They've be inundated with applications. Especially when MSE has it on it's list of the Best Regular Saver.

To answer your question, from what I've read on the forum, a lot of people are in the same boat, though some who applied quickly have their account open already.

I opened it on Friday. I should have set my screen timeout to maximum so that I didn't then have to sit touching the screen every now and again so that it didn't time out, but I'll remember that before applying to them in future.

They will be inundated with applications, as the rate matches an available Loyalty Product elsewhere, with more favourable terms (including that it is open to everyone.)

I stand by my comment that they should have tested the app with an Exclusive version first (that people couldn't get just by opening an EA with them the day before - as everyone interested would do exactly that when Moneyfacts gave the heads up.)

Yes, once I'd figured out I had to have another existing account before I could apply by app (this may have now been fixed), it was slow, but worked ok first time. Took a few minutes to "process", but it got there in the end. This was Friday evening.

It would be a real blessing if this thread attracts the reams of stuff that's been cluttering up the RS thread discussions and getting absolutely nowhere in the past week.
So you'd like this thread "cluttered up " too?

As far as I'm concerned, I'm very grateful for the heads up on the release, the issues and problems, and learned a lot from the posts on that RS thread about the Mon RS. No way do I regard them as "cluttering up" what is a "discussion" thread.

Feel free to regard my occasional attempt at humour in some of my post over there, as clutter. I try to balance that with helpful posts too.

    This is always a problem.
I applied for a good rate ISA with Santander at the same time as a local bank closed and it took ages because there was so much to process.

Ended up with 2 one now totally funded unsure about the second

Transactions appear in the app first followed by online visible the day after if you have added the account to you list so second account not showing
Now likely deposit made now not showing to next month

Yes exactly. Though have to mention that those resident in Northern Ireland aren't eligible but nearly everyone

Applied on Friday 25th mid morning via app, account took a few minutes to be approved, have existing RS and EA account. Funded Monday 28th. Need to request two codes on the app sometimes but otherwise ok.
