Monmouth Building Society is so slow

Re: Monmouthshire
I don't care for apps, but in this instance and as an existing customer already with online registration I did download it and open the account on the day it was launched. The app was awful and it got stuck on some loop for hours, but did open up. That gave me the account number, which enabled a deposit.
Once that appeared in my online account I deleted the app - I have no need for it; I prefer online access as I don't intend to look at it until tax return or maturity.
The app, for me, was a means to an end, and I agree with what wmb194 says above0 -
Snap! ..... applied 25th July too .... although I'd like to fund near the end of August if possible! I'm on bay-window patrol looking for signs of a high-vis clad RM person on foot! (A van means they are doing parcels, usually the other 6 days of the week! Yes, I did mean 6!)subjecttocontract said:Monmouth slow ? I wouldn't hear of it...
Applied 25th July online.....today is 11th August = 17 days and still don't have an account opened. Luckily I'm in no rush but I'd be happy if it can be done this year!Compiler of the RS League Table.

Applying on the app doesn't require signatureRudyson said:As an existing customer, you can make a payment when they send you the a/c number, even though the form says they need your signature first.I received my letter on Thurs 31st, sent a payment on the day and another on the 1st, and as of Tues 5th, £1000 is showing in the A/c.Yes, they do appear to need a wet sig for each a/c.On a separate note, why must we criticise a company for offering what's going to be a popular a/c just because it will overwhelm them, and take them a couple of days to set everyone up? Do we really want a lower interest rate as long as it could be dealt with instantly? We should be grateful to the small societies that can't afford to spend gazillions on IT systems, but are prepared to do all the extra work, instead of giving them grief for offering good rates.0 -
We criticise them because it's extremely annoying to have to wait (19 days, in my case, so far) to get nowhere. If it were a couple of days I doubt many would criticise but its much, much longer than it should be.Rudyson said:On a separate note, why must we criticise a company for offering what's going to be a popular a/c just because it will overwhelm them, and take them a couple of days to set everyone up? I downloaded the app and applied in there. It confirmed I had been successful within about 15 minutes and the RS was showing in the app. I sent £10 test payment from HSBC yesterday afternoon about 3pm using the details they emailed to me. Nothing showing yet. How long does it usually take to show?0

It's slow, usually next working day, but it'll be credited to the correct date.bioboybill said:I downloaded the app and applied in there. Same for me. Paid in on Monday morning, nothing showing first thing Tuesday morning but had arrived by the afternoon.wmb194 said:
