It sounds like the Visa rewards scheme that they used to run a few years ago.

ooh interesting, thanks for posting. I do like extra rewards, even if they aren't that great (which they often aren't :D)
    Hopefully its a good one!

I have a few schemes like this.  Barclaycard Rewards Cashback, RBS MyRewards, Virgin Money cashback.  Some are Visa, Some are Mastercard, and all seem to have very similar offers.  Often identical cashback percentage and validity dates.  Are these all managed by the same 3rd party I wonder?

Plus Natwest MyRewards, TSB MyRewards, Halifax Cashback Extras, Santander Boosts. So nothing new here really, just the same as all the others.

I stick with FD as my forever bank but over the years they've never really given much away if anything for me. I'd rather have something like TSB did or Halifax and give you rewards for spending on your debit card. Worth more to me than spending and getting a free coffee or buying at a food outlet that sometimes I've never even heard of.

I am probably whistling in the wind here but wouldn't it be nice if First Direct gave its loyal customers like me a £200 gift for staying with them for thirty years rather than the new accounts who have only joined for the sign up bonus and will clear off to another bank as soon as they have got it?

Absolutely! It doesn’t encourage loyalty as things stand.

Yep, it's a industry designed to reward disloyalty and you could say the same about any form of insurance too. Every year I cancel my car and home renewals and then find cheaper new policies on the comparison sites. Ridiculously, sometime I end up with the same company at two-thirds of the price. A few years ago I had some hassle with Admiral. The new Admiral policy wanted proof of no-claims but the previous Admiral policy was reticent to provide it. You'd think one phone call could solve that but...
