Stubod said:Hi all, and thans for the feedback. Generally I have been hppy with EE, good reception in most paces I go to. Just really disgusted that they can just "up" your contract by over 70% at a whim! After hanging on the phone for 40 minutes..("we are experiencing a lot of calls...etc. etc....ie the standard message you seem to get with every service provider these days....sorry, ranting)......I managed to "negotiate" a new 12 month contract at £8 a month, (athough, for no good reason I can think of, they will be putting it up by another £1.50 in March 2026.....)Stubod said:Hi all, I used to be with Plusnet for broadband and mobile phone etc. Then I got transferred to EE as Plusnet dropped their mobile phone service. Was paying around £6 per month, but after I transferred to EE they started the uual annual "inflation plus" increases, so was paying around £7. However they have just advised that I will now be automatically transferred in August to their new rate of £12 per month....(about an 70% increase??).I have looked, but can't find any other lower cost options on the EE website??Time to change, but who too???
Hope that helps.1 -
SWAMP_MAN said:Yesterday I received a text message from EE Informing me that in 30 days they will transfer my current 30 day rolling contract (£6.88 per month with 10Gb of data) to a new one at £12 per month with 20Gb of data and that if I was happy with this there was nothing I needed to do.
Admittedly there is an an extra 10Gb of data but given that I rarely hit 5Gb then it is of no use.
The contract was taken out several years ago when Plusnet decided to close there mobile phone side of the business and offered customers a preferential deal with EE.
Given that it is an increase just short of 75% I was far from happy.
After contacting them to ask why they were intending to move me on to a more expensive tariff I was told that it was a tariff that they no longer provided, needless to say I told them I was not happy and asked them for evidence in the contract that allowed them to take this course of action; but nothing was forthcoming. They logged it as a complaint and I subsequently received a text message to that effect. Today I received a text message saying that the complaint has been closed.
Have other EE customers had the same experience?1 -
Yes, EE increased my SIM only 100% and had the cheek to say it was a good deal! Moved to TalkMobile which has a good service recommendation from Which?
UsesVodaphone network - no problems switching, reception equivocal to EE.
(Really annoyed at EE - obviously not interested in SIM only contracts)1 -
EE don’t seem to want me as a customer. I requested a PAC and no one from retentions rang. I ended up ringing them myself, twice. First time the guy said someone would get back to me within a few days, which made no sense. They never did. I rang again today and was offered 7GB for £7 but on a 12 month contract. I wanted a 30 day rolling contract so the guy asked if he could place me on a short hold while he went to check for other deals. He never came back.My problem is that EE is the only one that gets a decent signal here and 1p mobile doesn’t seem that cheap in comparison. I don’t feel comfortable using the smaller MVNO’s like Spusu after seeing the problems with RWG and Lyca previously.1

..yes, very poor service from EE, I opted for the £7, 12 month contract as I felt I had little other choice, (however this will be going up in March for no apparent reason that I can think of, other than EE being happy to rip off their customers??).."It's everybody's fault but mine...."1

Also got the same message, jumped up to either £12 a month for 20GB rolling contract or £9 a month for 10GB but 24 month plan.
What annoys me is the £1.50 increase each March so that £9 deal is £14 for the last few months which is another big increase.
I use under 3GB a month so more data isn't worth it for me but the EE signal is only one that really works around here.0 -
well you either need to pay EE or try the smaller MVNOs
It's not EEs business model to do 1 month rolling, unless you want to buy PACKS, which are probably worse value for money0 -

Unfortunately 1p support is lacking compared to EE, but you pay less than EE for the same coverage and same speed (as far as I can tell from a direct comparison with an EE SIM).1
