I had the same - just signed up with Lebara..... EE called me and honestly - the utter BS they came out with!

Told them not to waste their breath - I'm off to pastures new - Lebara (Vodaphone) £2.39 pm for 3 months - then £7.95 a month - this includes 30GB of 5G  data .... which I never use - but will now when I'm on the move.

She tried to tell me they only sent the letters to get customers attention ...... I nearly died laughing.  :)

i'm just about to do the same i.e. leave EE and move to Lebara  (i have been with EE before it was even EE, when it was T-Mobile).
im paying £12.20 for 10gb but i use less than 1gb a month so its time to move (i requested my PAC code yesterday).

Quick question: i went to the MSE page where the mobile deals are and clicked onto the Lebara deal i want. It then took me to a screen where it looks like i enter my details and create a password.

However no where does it ask me if i want to port my number from another company?
So i found a number for Lebara customer services 0207 031 0791 but when i rang it just now my phone showed a warning message suggesting that number is spam.

Can someone explain the process for switching to Lebara from EE via the MSE website please?

You are given a new mobile number with the new SIM, once you have the new SIM working, supply the new network with the PAC from your old network. The number change over takes place on the next working day, usually starting around 8am.

    Thanks

I took the plunge and yes your right - after filling in my details & creating a password (and making the initial payment) i received an email informing me that If i would like to move my existing number to Lebara, to complete an online request after i receive my new SIM in the post.

I really can't believe ive not done this sooner :hand-on-head:

Hi all, I used to be with Plusnet for broadband and mobile phone etc. Then I got transferred to EE as Plusnet dropped their mobile phone service. Was paying around £6 per month, but after I transferred to EE they started the uual annual "inflation plus" increases, so was paying around £7. However they have just advised that I will now be automatically transferred in August to their new rate of £12 per month....(about an 70% increase??).
I have looked, but can't find any other lower cost options on the EE website??
Time to change, but who too???
the initial EE deal from Plusnet was pretty bad why didn't you switch then like everyone else

or you can pay as little as £3.15/month with talkhome for 5Gb
    £5.90 with SPUSU for 10Gb

yep, I think I'm going to switch my Lebara to this talk home deal EE works down the beach and I've not had any obvious problems with it. In fact the app is the best I've seen, it's completely seamless

You are incorrect, the initial EE deal I had was exactly the same as the Plusnet deal I had been on for the previous 5 years...ie around £6 a month....

But that's not what your post said. You says you were paying £7?

I’ve just had the same message today. Very annoying to see the price doubling for no reason but not unexpected. EE has always been the priciest network and I knew when Plusnet dumped us onto them that EE wouldn't allow us to keep such a low cost for long. My problem is that the phone reception (on all networks) is quite poor here but EE works ok and the WiFi calling helps. The only one I haven’t tried is Three. Does anyone know how I could get a Three sim without signing up to any plan or buying credit, just to check the coverage? I find the coverage checker maps to be totally inaccurate.

I’m nervous about moving to one of the smaller companies after seeing the problems people had when Lyca went down last year. I was also put off using 1p mobile after reading their trustpilot reviews but that was only until I read EE’s reviews which are far worse. However, there does seem to be some issues with getting voicemail on 1p. I don’t know if this is a common problem.
