Those tariffs are scams by EDF. They're just variable tariffs but with high exit fees.'Fixed' means that the kWh price and daily charge must both be fixed for the duration, FULL STOP.You can't claim it's a fixed tariff and then try to wriggle out by following it up with a contradiction.Complain to the Advertising Standards Authority and the Ombudsman.2

vienna28 said:Slightly off topic. Scot_39, I recall you telling me a couple of months ago that your E10 off peak rate with Eon had risen to a whopping 19p. What is your new off peak rate in July?
Will check later.
But i was only expecting c1.6p less or around that based on Ofgem PC 2 cap change
I cannot get snug on smets1 though.1 -
Rosie1001 said:Thank you , I had a funny feeling they were , when I asked the guy he said E10 but he wasn’t sure
I said I wanted confirmation of this before I switched to it
Did you record the call ?
Get that in writing ?2 -

I have asked for a more detailed description of the tariffs … see if I get it
The language barrier was difficult and I asked a few times for clarification but he was not sure he said
if I can’t keep eco 10 or even eco 9 I’m going to octopus , who were very clear and concise on the phone2 -
You seem to have been offered an E7 tariff. If you're lucky, EDF won't change your meter timings and you'll get E7 prices on E10 times - but your experience back in April makes me think they'll send the new timings out and you'll have E7 hours too.I agree with vienna28 that the 9p Snug rate will save you a small fortune. That's 5p/kWh less than EDF's E7 off-peak, which on 9000kWh is a saving of £450 a year.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. I would hope EDF wouldnt transmit E7 rates / timings until the "we will maintain to" 29th end of switch notice. But I would imagine it will be changed.[And given supplier competence I wouldnt like to guarantee they wont repeat the Apr 1st problem.]Some suppliers used to accept old E10 pre smart meters and bill at E7 rates (Octopus iirc was one for the odd one or two - same for some twin meter installs). From posts on the old economy10 com site reportedly took a fraction of off peak units and moved them back to peak on bills - some the full 30% iirc - which seemed a little unfair.1

I have emailed them again
I have asked for the timings .. but like you say , I think its eco 7 as well
I’m surprised I got the letter to be honest , it was aimed at people who are on the RTS meters apparently
I know a Scottish MP has emailed EDF and asked about this , I’m in a Facebook group for complex metering and It’s been posted in there
It’s an absolute sh@t show , so many people have been put on very expensive tariffs from today through no fault of their own0 -
