Has anyone bought the Smeg ones? they look a good size
I refuse to buy anything Smeg after my hob fiasco (the paint came off all round the edge, they refused to do anything even though within guarantee as it was 'cosmetic' and said it was my fault). Nicely rusty now and impossible to clean properly (repainting it myself is a long-standing OAT - watch this space...) So Smeg can bog off!

(I know plenty of people love their stuff, but I do make a point of telling my crappy stove story to counterbalance as I know people buy their stuff for the way it looks, as indeed we did) 😬😂

I didn't know they made travel cups though. They probably look lovely! 😂
That's really bad Cheery Daff, I just read your thread on the subject.  No wonder you are anti-smeg.

Just out of interest, did you try a section 75 claim?  If not there's still time.
No, I didn't, and I can't now remember why! There was a reason - I'm sure i investigated at the time. I may have been put off by the retailer insisting it wasn't actually faulty, it was just cosmetic damage. And now we're well lut of the warranty period, feels like it was ages ago. But I'm more militant now and have been complaining about all kinds of things so maybe I'll give it a go - back on the OATs list it goes!
I listen to the legal hour on LBC radio (9pm on a Saturday and there's also a slot on Sunday same time).  They are always talking about it and it makes a lot of sense.

Finally rang and made blood test appointments for both me & DH. Been meaning to do that for weeks. Also finally got round to investigating upgrading our travel insurance, via live chat. Wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be....well apart from the cost, which I have decided to leave for now & relook at it, at a different time.

Have listed things on Oli0/ fb00k/ v1nted/flebay - still lots to list. Several things have sold (some of then then financed the purchase of a piece of furniture from fb00k)

2 bags dropped off at CS today - 2 more ready to go next time I'm in that direction. Most things that are up for sale will also head that way if they don't go 😊

Appointments made for DS2 for Optician, dentist and hygienist 😊

Still need to book appt to take DS3 shoe shopping - and also need to take him suit shopping for 6th form....

DS3's rooms are almost fully bottomed out - lots of stuff has gone to bin/ recycling (and some to CS and for sale) - should hopefully finish them (with him) tomorrow. DS2's and DS1's still need work......

Made a complaint to ombudsman about debt collection agency who pursued me despite there being no evidence it was my debt. Probably won't come to anything but at least I've said my piece.
Have been putting it off for ages as its extremely anxiety inducing but I'm not having them send letters that someone might come to my home then just washing their hands of it like it was nothing to do with them

Was hoping for a good push for last day of July but have had to settle for not swearing (at least in writing) at brokers. A strong enough achievement

    Oh that definitely counts! 😉

Cleaned water filter jug and renewed filter. Then resubscribed to the refills, now we have worked through the built up stock!
Blood test done - always dread them due to my small veins so good to knock that off the list.

    Two small OATs for me.

One I've put off for a few days - writing a letter to support a neighbour in a dispute with another neighbour 😬 Hope that doesn't come back to bite me.

The other I've put off for weeks and weeks - giving the same neighbour some cash we claimed when he helped a stupid man with a van who got stuck on our lawn 😂 Took forever to get them to agree to the claim but they have no. Obviously he tried to refuse, told him to give it to his wife if he didn't want it 😂

Oh, and I emptied out two jars of experimental apple scrap vinegar that had been left far too long and gone quite mouldy 😬

Off work for the whole of August so hopefully lots of OAT progress will be made! I'm planning to pop in every day, even if it's just to report something tiny.

Some life asmin today - I renewed 2 savings accounts that matured a few days ago to rubbish rates , so improved that massively. Also opened a new cash ISA which I'll transfer an existing ISA with (now) rubbish rates.

Did a bunch of filing/ recycling/ shredding - tend to do a batch every school hols, as I just don't have the inclination in term time.

Also got DH to chase up a missing 3.5k from his old employer.....!
