I'm trying to stay away from cake and freeze meals for later in the year when there aren't so many veggies in the garden/I CBA to cook.
Recipe recommended by a colleague here: https://www.loveandlemons.com/zucchini-pasta/#wprm-recipe-container-78941 I was thinking of having the sauce with butter beans rather than pasta as I prefer pulses and lots of pasta sauces work well with butter beans.3 -
@greenbee - I parboil whole, trimmed courgettes just to soften a little.. Then wrap them in ham, cover with cheese sauce and add a crunchy breadcrumb & crushed crisp topping and bake till bubbling. Quite a hearty meal and very tasty served with crusty bread.
2 more charity shop bags dropped off. These are from my mum's wardrobe so there's an emotional element to doing it. However, she had such nice clothes that it's good to give them another chance to be enjoyed.Dad's meter reading done and submitted. Will check his balance in a couple of days.Online account set up for dad's building society account which although he doesn't do online anything will help me to help him to manage his account.

Very impressed with all your oats! I've been ignoring mine 😬 But I did just do a tiny one, while sitting in a service station on the way home from a friend's house, no less!
Mr C was given a most excellent travel mug a few weeks ago by a friend- I've been pinching it for work and it's been revolutionary, especially while I am without an office. Several places in my workplace have a free to use hot water machine, so I've been able to just take teabags and a small bottle of milk and not had to pay for a cuppa. This is a fab mug as it properly seals, so I can just sling a full cuppa in a rucksack and it's still piping hot when I get to work.
Promised myself I'd buy one for me too so we can both have one for summer adventures. They're not cheap, but all the cheap ones I've had haven't been thermal, or haven't had a properly sealing lid. Then I dithered over colour. Finally today I took the plunge and ordered the cheapest colour (lime green 😂). Had to pay for delivery so £23 all in 😬 but we can easily pay £3 or £4 for a coffee while out on an adventure, so it won't take long to get that back even if we just take one a day with us 😊
Inspired for a month of OATs in August when I'm off work! 😃5 -
@greenbee - I grate and freeze courgette gluts and then throw huge lumps into pasta sauce/ chilli/ cottage pie/ curry/ soups
Finally got around to changing energy supplier after going onto variable tariff just over a month ago....😳 DDR should go down, but I will get hit with 2 of them this pay day (ouch!) - and then a refund at some point, from current supplier
Still lots of life admin to do - and house to clean and children to chivvy to clean/ sort/ tidy rooms (room changes since DD moved out)... ho hum!
Pay day tomorrow 😁😁I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £203 -

@Cheery_Daff - we really like our thermal drinks flasks. We started using them in lockdown when everywhere was shut and now we enjoy the freedom they give us. We often say that being able to go for a lovely walk and find a seat with a view gives us the very best pop up coffee shop.4

(I know plenty of people love their stuff, but I do make a point of telling my crappy stove story to counterbalance as I know people buy their stuff for the way it looks, as indeed we did) 😬😂
I didn't know they made travel cups though. They probably look lovely! 😂4
