Didn't feel like I'd done much today but have just bribed myself with a glass of rosè in exchange for taking pictures of an item and uploading them to all the various listings sites. A fair deal I think!4

Took our bedroom blackout curtains to the dry cleaners this morning. I felt rather ashamed as they’ve been up since new for (whispers) 6 years. Thoroughly washed the pole and fixtures ready for their homecoming if they don’t do all sorts of things I was warned of at my own risk written in red biro on the collection ticket! How else am I supposed to clean them other than do my usual trick of destroying them in the washing machine when they clearly state dry clean only?
Also ordered a new front door which has been on the list for a few years so not really an impulse buy! It’s a lovely forest green so I looking forward to blasting out a bit of Shakin Steven’s over a BBQ.Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

Brilliant domestic work @Sallyforth, though no need to be ashamed, wouldn't even occur to me to wash thick curtains (okay fine I'm a slattern) 😂
Forest green front door sounds gorgeous, pic when you can please!
I quite fancied having our build painted a classy colour but turns out our mad surveyor submitted hand made bricks for planning permission approval and while they'll cost us an extra few grand, it'll cost more in delays to re-apply, so we're blimmin well admiring these bricks whether we like them or not 😁3 -
I've finished dealing with the houseplants, and done some laundry. I've given away lots of strawberries and picked more. I've also done the watering.
What I haven't done is sorted out homes for the bare roots and garden-ready plants that have been delivered. Or the seedlings that need dealing with before they die.3 -
I can't believe that it is Thursday and I haven't yet achieved putting 5 items into the garage. What the heck is so difficult about that?I did sort out my recipe folder and move recipes that we might actually cook from the broken lever arch file to the beautiful new turquoise lever arch file. It's fairly clear how I prioritise my tasks - garage v new stationery - no contest 😁4

There is a an old, small, wing oak table that lives on the side in the kitchen. It attracts all sorts of ‘stuff’, dust and cobwebs … Due to Mr KK bringing home a free 1000mm kitchen unit today to create an island, I cleared the old oak table, vacuumed all the wall and floor under / behind it and scrubbed the skirting board behind it.We now have a decision on what to do with the old oak table which has taken up residence in the conservatory where the dishes washer was for months! 😂😊🤷♀️

Think the main achievement today was not falling asleep in this close heat! Must buck my ideas up tomorrow. Or Sunday. Possibly Monday 😁3

PIP - Monday will be fine. I definitely, probably will have put 5 blooming items in the garage by Friday.

Up at 5 (awake from 4) due in part to the dawn chorus but mainly the lack of black out from the curtains at the cleaners. Pesky light seeps around the edges of the useless blackout blind.
So by 8 I had trimmed the neighbour’s laurel hedge down the side of our path, tidied the weeds over growing onto the path and pruned their Japanese maple overhanging our path. This doesn’t belong to the oddball neighbour so I felt okay doing it. Their flat is for sale so I’m guessing they are letting things slip. Neat and tidy pathway for us and my nice neighbour. I also pruned a hawthorn tree obscuring our bird table at the back and swept our patio.
Next job assembly the flat pack kettle BBQ we bought ages ago but couldn’t face putting together. It’s now looking all shiny and new in its designated spot to be wheeled out when I can be bothered to actually use it. Far too muggy today.
I’m now exhausted and hoping to get some sleep before the birds and light wake me up. It’s going to be a long week waiting for my clean curtains.
Hope everyone has a lovely relaxing weekend with perhaps some productivity thrown in? Mine is a trip to the plant nursery because I’ve run out of pots to put plants that are taking over in (nasturtiums I am looking at you).Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

A couple of the OATs achieved this week:
1) I finally have my name on the council tax bill, we bought the house about 20 years ago.
2) Sorting out what I am going to wear to an event later this month. This has taken up a lot of headspace. I couldn't find anything I liked in the original style I'd chosen. I have had a rethink and decided on a look which is more me. A look through my wardrobe and bought 1 item second hand, which I will get lots of wear out of post the event. All sorted in a couple of hours 😃
3) Decluttered and cleaned the dining room cabinet & dressers.
4) Clearing the dining table.
5) Posting here, for some reason, this is becoming an OAT of its own despite it also being a motivating factor in dealing with many other OATs. When I have conquered an OAT, I often think, I need to mention that on my OAT update tonight and then don't post at all 🤦Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
