"Nationwide has paid out £100 to more than 4 million members in a single day, Britain's biggest building society has revealed....."

your 100 post comment might be a bit on the low side !

And cue 100 posts of everyone saying the same thing - yes they paid it, no need to keep posting it, if someone hasn't had it yet, it doesn't help them, if you have it, we already know they paid it today!
I was sorely tempted to copy and paste your post, but my humour mightn’t have been understood.

The reaction was inevitable though. It’s similar to replies along the lines of ‘As xxxx has said above, you need to speak to your bank’. Adds absolutely nothing to the conversation but people like to post.

Sharing a little joy isn't such a terrible thing.
But what purpose does it serve to have every person posting "I got £100"? What joy does it bring - either you qualified and got the money so that is joy enough, or you didn't qualify and see this post constantly bumped up the forum with spam posts giving no useful information to anyone. The first post stating Nationwide have started paying it out was sufficient for everyone.

No-one has reiterated the point that you have to include the £100 as interest for example, joyless but necessary

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

My friend didn't get it, despite having done a current account switch before the 31st March and having over £100 in savings with them.  He contacted them but they weren't bothered and said he didn't qualify.

There were some specific criteria to qualify, which included making a certain number of deposits and debit card spends in 2 of the first 3 months of the year, so presumably your friend hadn't done these

Or by carrying out a full current account switch before the 31st March which meant the transactions didn't apply.
