When was the switch completed? It needed to complete between 01Jan-31Mar to qualify. Also, was it a full CASS switch from another bank into an eligible Nationwide account, which closed their account at the other bank?

Switch was done mid-March.
Yes full CASS switch, old account closed.
Nationwide aren't interested which is disappointing as he's met the criteria.

Get them to open a complaint. That'll get it dealt with.

Make sure they include the poor service they've received with regards to being told they aren't eligible even though it's plain in the terms that they should've been.

This is my suggestion as well. If you're confident you've met the conditions for the incentive, then I'd put in a formal complaint and ask them to spell in out in detail exactly which of the terms they believe you haven't complied with.
