Santander 123 Lite - conversion to Everyday Account from 21 August 2025?

No, it couldn't. They never said they would end all 123 Lites on the same day. I imagine the accounts will start transitioning in the next few days, assuming they haven't already.GeoffTF said:Could this all be a dirty trick to get 123 Lite customers to jump to Edge accounts?
If they wanted people to have Edge accounts, even if they couldn't move them over to that product because of the differing fee structures, they could certainly have added a carrot or at least a specific mention in passing when notifying of the change to Everyday.0 -
I received an email shortly before than announced demise of the 123 Lite accounts incorrectly telling that I could earn more cashback with an Edge account. I am not seriously suggesting that Santander has a dirty tricks department, but I do sometimes wonder.WillPS said:

A lack of competence rather than a conspiracy I suspectGeoffTF said:

I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?3 -
I received my cashback yesterday and my 123 Lite has converted to an Everyday Current account today2

And mine is still a 123 Lite so that is not their overall plan. Looks like I am going to have to jump before being pushed or I will end up paying a part Lite fee with no benefit as all my eligible DDs are near the end of the cycle.granta said:I received my cashback yesterday and my 123 Lite has converted to an Everyday Current account today

Maybe give it until Tuesday then in case it's a "next working day" thing.molerat said:

Pushed the button now, took a couple of minutes. My next eligible DD is 12th so I have until then to decide if I want to switch to Edge or not.crumpet_man said:

I'm abandoning direct debits and going to try manual payments with credit card. I may change my mind of it ends up being too much effort. I am using Zilch card which pays 0.5% or 2% rewards with a Curve card behind it and a 0% purchases credit card behind Curve.
Council tax I have setup on automatic recurring payment, 0.5% cashback with Zilch.
Water is manual payment, 0.5% cashback with Zilch.
Octopus Energy, Virgin Media and Vodafone all manual monthly payments using Zilch with 2% cashback.
Cashback should be about the same as I was getting with 123 lite after the fee and I'll be putting nearly £400 a month into regular savings at 7%. More effort than direct debits but more rewards due to the regular saver interest.1
